Dungeon Defenders Freezes Only a Couple Minutes In! [Mac]

Hello, last night I bought DD on steam and have not been able to keep it going longer than 5 mins. Until, boom, the game is frozen and I have to force quit. I have tried: Verifying Steam Cache, Reinstalling, selecting "Don't Use Multi-Threaded Renderer" and I don't know what else to do. Other games run fine, and for the couple minutes it's alive, so does DD. Very disappointed. Any help? I really want to play this cool looking game! The Mac is running 10.8 with the following specs: 4GB DDR3 RAM and 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Please help

Why specific Mac are you using? What graphics card does it use?

I'm using a mid 2010 13". NVidia GeForce 320M 256MB graphics.

i am using the same mbp as ryebread761 and it is freezing the sound is cackling, and sometimes the pointer will disappear, the only difference is that i downloaded it off of the app store (oh! my ram is also 8 gigs)
