    Connection issues

My experience with DD in the last 3 days, trying to play survival for gear: build Moraggo survival, upgrade everything, lose connection on 32. Aquanos, lose connection on 23. King's game, 21. Aquanos again, 23. Each of those took me at least an hour to build and play several rounds spamming upgrades, waiting for the possible loot in the later waves, only to be randomly jerked out of the game and lose everything. It happens nearly every time now, and there seems to be no problems playing other steam games online or with my internet connection otherwise.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but would it not be possible to save a game for resuming later, in the event that you lose connection to steam? If there is anything trendy can do about it, I hope they do it.

In the meantime, are there any troubleshooting steps I can take? I've tried the 'setting steam process priority to high' trick to no avail.

The current system cannot be changed, I'm afraid. The reason you don't have problems with other steam games is you don't play aonther steam game that is as dependent on Steam's servers and API. Only a few games have this issue, and DD is one of them. The only thing that can be done is Trendy not using the same systems in whatever game they make next. D

You can avoid most disconnects by following the Steam Downtime Announcements thread on the steam forums. Don't start a long survival run if there is going to be a downtime.

If you are disconnecting when there is no downtime or instability on steam's end, you may have a network issue caused by a router or firewall, or there could be problems beyond your control on the route your connection takes to reach the steam servers. In some cases, changing your steam region in Steam settings might help, or reconfiguring your router or firewall to ensure that traffic both for steam and dungeon defenders gets through. Your only other recourse is to switch your Online Provider in the config tool to GameSpy and play on Open through that.
