Thread: New Difficulty Mode suggestion

    Post New Difficulty Mode suggestion

I think this has been said too many times already. The gap between Nightmare and Insane is abysmal. I would like to suggest a new difficulty mode and name it Brutal. Brutal would reduce the power of your builds, slightly stronger mobs than in Insane. It would drop Mythicals as normal drop and very rarely, Transcendent. This would allow players to get somewhat decent gear to face Nightmare but not enough to easily beat maps. Vote and comment what do you think, thanks Panchaiy.

I've heard of new difficulty suggestions but for something stronger than Nightmare o:
I dunno but I've seen a few NM videos and it seems pretty easy.
    PSN: NingaStyle_Tony

Don't really play DD anymore. ):

I'm wanting something to pass NM. For the most part, you should still be able to progress into NM, people are usually having problems due to: bad builds, lack of class diversity, or just plain undergeared. A difficulty between NM and insane would be redundant, because then you'd be skipping most of NM.

problem with being undergeared is people don't always know where to find the gear they need to get into the harder content, to me what I enjoy the most is finding my own gear, or trading for it with someone I was in a game with when they found it (just makes it feel more real to me) but then my stats aren't super uber high yet for that exact reason, lol

I recently made a new summoner to work with a friend of mine who started a squire (mainly in order to provide the best cooperation without using any Defense Units myself) while they got acquainted with the game; we both only worked with the mana and equipment we found at the time. Granted, while this meant I had additional experience with the game, the two of us were still able to make excellent progress in some of the early levels in Nightmare difficulty. Even when we couldn't beat levels, we were still obtaining equipment upgrades in the process.

Really, the difficulty made things challenging, but it was by no means too difficult to get equipment upgrades which would facilitate us getting upgrades.

Edit: I'm not saying I'm against the idea and, in fact, I'd consider it a better idea than a worse one, but from what I've experienced, it's definitely not any kind of absolute necessity. Sharken are tough to deal with, djinns are tough to deal with, goblin copters can be beastly, but in the end, none of them are insurmountable obstacles.

Although, that said, I did have to pull out my "heavy hitters" for Insane Sky City. The goblin copters there are just far too strong from anyone appropriate for the difficulty.

In reply to all your comments on this matters. I should state the following:
    • Most new players, dont have all DLCs. Not allowing them to have MU and EV walls makes things harder for them.

    • Most people are undergeared because they cant get better gear or they dont know how to pick their gear.

    • There is a huge gap between Nightmare and Insane, just try playing the same map on Nightmare with the same parameters and its 3 times harder than the Insane one.

    • Some people do not have enough time to farm maps and get good gear, having an intermediate difficulty would allow them to do so without that much effort

Those are my reasons for posting this. I dont think a Difficulty harder than Nightmare is necessary right now. I remember when Nightmare came out for testing, I dont think most people want that to happen again.
I would try to fix the gap I described before making a harder difficulty that might add another bigger gap. That is all, thank you for your responses, Panchaiy.

Well, consoles are getting Insane+, Maybe PC players need this also.

Perhaps, a + option for every difficulty is needed and have it give 30% increase in loot quality. So NM +, which will make normal NM campaign feel like wave 20 and up of survival.

That sounds awfully overpowered, i would tone it down. I still like the + idea more.
