Thread: NM Reward loot

    NM Reward loot

A couple of aspects to this:

    1) Sky city, and to a lesser degree, aquanos campaign completion rewards have bonuses over generic drops
Should this be looked at for misty and morrago also (maybe even further)?

    2) The quality of completion rewards for misty is fairly low end (I don't think anyone who can finish it in NM would be using the rewards).
These weapons have some of the best models, so I'd really like to see them as useful rewards

    3) Shroomites have the worst quality of any survival pet. You're lucky if you get mythical ones from NM, let alone trans. My experience with cats shows a similar pattern
    Quality tweaking needed?

    4) From the seahorse onwards (although it does show up in aquanos rewards, just less often), the quality multipliers seem to be *too* high. 1/1 upgrades is extremely common for seahorses, STS's, and propeller cats (Just some commonly farmed items that it happens to) from NMHC not to mention the frequency of -ve stats on such items. 1/1 is just a kick in teeth (-ve stats is not too bad, but do the ^'s have to look like they've generated too high)
Does it make sense to be *more likely* to get something useful from insane?

    5) There was a short period where the tavern shop was worth checking. That's the only period in my entire play time I've bought something that wasn't a pet from it (pets have mainly been guardians way back when. Pets aren't much use either atm). While that period of high tavern loot was a little over the top, it was good b/c it was a good way to get armour rewards into the game. I'm lucky if the current shop stocks myth's with >100 stats and thats running maps where 100 stats is really sub par.
Should the shop being tweaked again?

    Your thoughts?

    EDIT

    6)
The armour piece you get for beating a boss. It's meant to be a reward, but how often does it just get sold b/c it's godly or low end myth. Why do these always feel useless?
Getting fed up with people whining about and judging something they have no knowledge of

    Simple answer YES!

Beating a difficult battle to get rewarded with low end crud is just so painful!

Shroomites are so hard to get a good one of so damn hard! The "GOOD ONES" I have gotten were still vastly sub par to other reward pets that I have received.

As for MM forest yeah I hear ya the rewards look awesome but are just plain table decorations for me since there quality is well often just plain horrid honestly.

The shop SHOULD get some improvements as well.

Well let us all ask Trendy nicely and cross our fingers!

I completely agree. Junbao's Sun-Kissed Saber is my favorite model for a weapon, and it doesn't compare to any other Monk weapon.

Agreed, on every account. Especially with regards to the upgrades/stats apparently rolling over in some form. I've heard from numerous people about nearly every Stone's Throw, Cat, and such ending up with 1/1 upgrades. If this was a common thing otherwise, they could chalk it up to bad luck. But it seems to be occurring with very specific items, and only on high difficulty HC reward versions (where the quality multiplier is super-high.) And when so many people report 99% of their Stone's Throw Spears having 1/1 upgrades, something is up.

Agreed! I love some of the models from misty and moraggo but the weapons are too damn weak.

    agreed x6.
We have roughly 5-7 builders and 1-4 dps (generally)
How many useful drops do we see at a time? (trans+supremes of high quality)

    Rarely ever. Very rarely.

I've had 1 supreme armor drop ever x...x, 0 ult armors

I have 700 hours played with about 300 of that being since I hit the supreme level of geared (upper trans supreme dropping maps) Something ain't right there

I'll even bring this up, sure we don't NEED supreme\ult armor to beat *any* current content. But guess what, after you BEAT said content there's nothing better to do in a loot ***** game than... LOOT. Make us feel rewarded. Not punished for wanting to up our damn gear x...x

    3) I thought it was only me, what's with that pet?? I've done dozens of runs in misty and the highest I've got was a low end trans shroomite.

    5) There has been a couple of comments on the suggestion forum about how a way to help drive the economy into line is making the tavern an actual strong competitor in loot/price. I would very much like to see that happening.

1: i agree here. but the same should be true for all types of rewards weapons.

2: honestly, before aquanos all reward weapons are like that. while i dont think that killing the demon lord should give something comparable to killing the genie king, i do feel that killing the demon lord on nightmare should give something at least better than what raining goblins on nightmare gives. there needs to be a universal backlogging of all the reward weapons and armors and give them better stat rolling and a quality increase.

3: i think part of the problem was they put the stat rolling for the pets on the newer maps to be so high so that they could be used by people to bridge the stat gap they need to overcome to break into nightmare, and a side effect of that was pets that have stats that were rolled far too high and had to reroll, creating the horrible quality in high occurrences like currently exists. i mean, certainly, it is possible to get amazing pets from nightmare mode, but it is much MUCH more rare than getting a really good one from insane. as to the problem specific to shroomites, i can only imagine that they have an rather low stat threshold and consistently easily surpass it.

4: when the loot quality increase that came after sky city was released, when i was doing aquanos survival runs (and please do bear in mind that this kind of cemented my hatred and now avoidance of survival) i noticed that A LOT of armor was dropping from enemies that had really good resists, decent stats, and then 1/6 levels. or 1/30, or just some abysmally low number that completely made the piece of armor useless. i mention this because i think my response from number 3 caused a spill-over into a lot of things.

5: the tavern shop is a joke. you run a map on nightmare, the tavern is stocked with epic gear; you run the same map on insane hardcore and you have godlies and occasionally mythical gear. you run boss rush on insane hardcore and there is nothing but torn/worn; you run palantir on insane hardcore and you have legendary and occasionally mythical.

6: RNG is fine, but most games use a RNG that clamps the low end and high end of stat rolls for gear from a particular area the both ensures that it is not completely a waste of time, as well as prevents someone from getting an item that is "too good" from a particular area. trendy needs to invest time into implementing a system like this. and they also need to get rid of the random chance to flip a stat negative in some situations.
