High end Animi worth it?

So I'm finally breaking into some easy Nightmare games (NM Spook is my current farming map of choice) and have been getting some 200mil pets in the tavern store. These tend to be Animi with 100-ish stats and base damage of 500-700 with 90-100 ups.

Given that high level play tends to be with guardians and that nightmare nerfs Heroic pets to some extent, is it even worth purchasing these pets?

No. Get a Seahorse.

You can get better pets running survivals. I heard people were getting great seahorses (some trans) running Aquanos survival just on insane.

Did you people miss the part where he said he was just breaking into NM? Even Insane Aquanos will be near impossible to beat the boss at that level.

Yes, that should be fine for starting. If you can get through Alch Labs or Throne Room survival though, the potential Trans Laser Bot might serve you better.

Guardians have actually fallen off a fair bit since EV was released, and anything with Mythic or greater gets Heroic damage anyway, and pets are actually buffed for NM (which you can test against the dummies in Deeper Well.)

I would actually say the serpent off of magus quarters would be your best bet as far as pre shards dps pets go.

Plus there is always someone running the map on nightmare survival.

Yeah I been wondering what pet to get I have run Insane everything, now working on the Lost Crystals stuff on Hard. I have unlocked the dragon on Summit. But what would be the best pet for my Monk Range DPS, Squire Tower, and the 2 for my Summoner? And do I want to put all the points into Pet damage over everythings?

You want a Genie for rapid ups. Laserbot is good for DPS below nm(gets nerfed in nm, but is still decent). Giraffes are probably your best shout for builders right now, at least until you can farm trans pets.

Ok thanks. I am trying to break into NMHC mode. I have a 75 Mage, 75 Squire Mythic out (which I use), Summoner Mythic(I use), and a 75 Range DPS Monk and Mythic out. My wife plays with me all the time, and she Runs a 75 Tower Monk, 74 Ev, and is working on desiding between Barbarian and Mage DPS. So we are trying to make sure what pets we need to get through the Lost Crystal stuff on Isane and into NMHC. Just havent run into any really mytic pets yet, all have about 45-50 ups. I am runing with a dragon on my DPS and been putting all my upgrades into its damage and got it to 3 projectials, is that a mistake?

Also when will I start seeing Mythical pets?

Since it's not mythical(or higher) it doesn't benefit from hero damage stats, so just max the damage and projectiles.

You can get them from insane survival.
