Two words: Star Wars
So for those of you who did not immediately hit the Back button on your browser: Hello!
I am not an artist, not a game designer, not a coder, and certainly no expert on the DDDK, but if turning Dungeon Defenders into a Star Wars themed action/RPG/tower defense game is at all possible let me be the first to say I would pay for it in a heartbeat.
I don't envision any new game mechanics or game play changes of any form, but instead a redesign from an artwork standpoint. An apprentice magic missile tower will still be a magic missile tower but instead it will look like one of the rebel laser turrets from Galactic Battle Grounds. Goblin Copters are now Star Destroyers, flying over your head launching (ridiculously OP) proton torpedoes. Tie-wyverns are barraging you with laser fire. Ogre sized AT-AT's closing in. All the while you're fighting them off as Han Solo with his trusty range of blasters, or Chewie with crossbows. Or maybe you prefer chopping stormgoblins to bits using your Lightsaber as Luke (and going into blood rage when one of the passing Vader-warriors mentions your sister).
If you don't like Star Wars then yeah you're going to think all this sounds stupid, but I know there are some of you out there reading this going: yes, Yes, YES YES HERE TAKE MY WALLET!
I know something of this magnitude will never come to fruition, but it has been YEARS since a decent Star Wars game has come along. This is mostly just wishful thinking but who knows, maybe someday
Clarification: And by decent I mean X-Wing 95, Tie Fighter, Battlefront, X-Wing Alliance etc.
