question about ultimates from the livestream

I heard them discussing ultimate weapons, but something that they said I'm not sure if I heard correctly.

It sounded like they were saying that ultimate weapons will get more damage per upgrade.

For example, if you have a myth/trans/or sup version of a particular weapon it might go up by 80 damage per upgrade but the ultimate version of the same weapon will increase more?

Also, if a dev is reading this (and can answer it) will ultimates be worked into previous shard challenges and boss drops? Will we be able to get ultimate everflames, stone throw spears, lemurians, etc?

Missed the livestream, so I can't comment on that, but as for this:

Unless Ultimate gear comes with a new tag preventing it from dropping, it should drop on any stage that can give Transcendent/Supreme gear, as long as the loot multiplier pushes the stats high enough. That should include challenges.

If 7.38 comes with a DDDK update, I'll be able to confirm that as soon as I've downloaded it.

I believe you did understand weapon upgrade amounts correctly. They even said some Ultimate weapons would get as much as twice the damage per upgrade when compared to non-ultimate versions.

The tag that prevents items from being Transcendent or higher is on a per-map/challenge basis. If Transcendent Stone's Throw Spears exist, then Ultimate versions should be possible, unless there's a new tag preventing that. As a reminder, the loot generator's order is {Roll stats -> Determine quality from stats}, rather than {Roll quality -> Determine stats from quality}, with the only current exception to the order being a bonus stat roll for ^ if an item's quality ends up as Trans or Supreme (or Ultimate, tomorrow).

Unless code's been written to specify that Ultimate quality items can't drop on certain stages, they'll be seamlessly added to the loot tables for all stages that allow Transcendent. Whether items can drop with high enough stats to be Ultimate is another matter. Anyways, I'll check ASAP if there's a tag to prevent Ultimate items dropping when the patch is released, if I can.
