    Welcome back.

The good news is the game is much better than it used to be last October.

The bad news is your hunt w/ godly van wolf is no longer King... err Queen of the dps.

Since you've been gone for awhile I'd recommend looking at CrzyRndm's guide to breaking into nightmare (most recent so it takes into account latest patch changes). I'd also recommend Urza's guide for newbies since it would also bring you back up to speed (or read all the patch notes). For example you may not be aware of the fact that a toons stat cap is now 120.

Same thing.... I left a little bit after the thanksgiving event. That time, it was pretty frustrating how they keep changing the armor strength "cap." I am thinking about rejoining... with my new mac!... gonna be faster than ever! lol~

Thanks for all the great information everyone. I'll definitely look into those guides. I'm really excited to hear that monk is the new top DPS as monk is my all-time favorite class to play.

I forgot to add some other good news for you... one of the fairly recent patches reduced the survival mob count and another patch changed the max on starting wave of survival to the max you have cleared. So no more all nighters to get to waves 20+.

I'd say the must have expansion classes are the Summoner and Series EV. I've switched my DPS to my SEV just because of the ability to carry two weapons. I currently switch between a bone bow for general crowd control or for an ogre train, and a chain gun for higher DPS against a boss, Djinn, or single Ogre.

You're going to want to build a tower Squire or Countess and a tower Huntress. A Huntress with 1K stats (not terribly hard to achieve these days as 1K is the new basement end stats) in all areas or close to it is a must have for trying to break into nightmare. A buff beamed Gas+Prox stack is a beautiful thing, and clears the usual trash mobs so your harps can focus on Djinn and Ogres. I've been trying to integrate Lightening towers into my builds now as they work pretty decent for DEW control.

The best way to get good armor drops will be to run survival as a Summoner during combat wave. Only armor drops if the only playing characters are active Summoners. Nightmare Ramparts survival actually isn't all that bad in terms of how things go. I started with that one simply because I couldn't make it to higher waves where drops get good (wave 15+) on Endless Spires.

You also might want to get the Talay Mines expansion. Survival on that map drops pet rocks, which are like Giraffes on steroids. Not really good to equip for your DPS characters due to their heavyness. The only downside to Talay is that its really hard to solo. You need a good group of friends for that map. If you can manage it, I'd pick a map and run some insane survivals to get a good giraffe too for your tower builders. I lucked out and got an insane one with very good tower attack stats a couple times.

Welcome back and good luck. I myself am working hard to farm gear to break into 2K stats. I'm currently sitting at 1K stats. )
