    Really confused by DD store

Hi, I was wanting to see if I couldn't get some possible guidance on the store. I am scouring the game for new weapons and such, and the only thing I have found to be more tedious than going from in game shop to in game shop and digging through mounds of drivvel with no success, is the DD store.

So my question, is there any way to see only what shops are online? I have found when I see an item I accept as the item I would like to purchase, easily 90% of the time the shop is offline.

I friends list these people, hoping to perhaps join their shop later to get this item, but more times than not, they just straight block communication with me, or just ignore it altogether.

The worst part is when I try to go back to look at more items, all my filter options will have reset, and I have to redo them for every single item I look at.

Does anyone else use this service with any success at all? I feel like an idiot, yes I am relatively new to the game, but attempting to get some nice Transcendent upgrades is proving to be beyond painful. any tips or anything would be highly appreciated ><

No, you're not doing anything wrong. The Defenders Store is a 3rd party service that (for some reason) has some minimal integration with the game itself. It seems like a good idea, but it hasn't worked out as well as it should have, because the problems you have are widespread(/universal).

By any chance is there a simpler way to shop at all, then? I've noticed shopping as a newer player is somewhat hard. I have plenty of mana to throw around, but usually if I can even find items I'm looking for, its even harder to break through the elitism and egos this game resonates at its higher end content.

I haven't found one. There are lots of suggestions out there to improve the shopping experience, but I haven't seen any response from the Devs on any of them. The best, of course, would be if they'd host an auction house and/or consignment shop of sorts.

I've only ever bought a few dinky pieces of armor (<=5m mana apiece). I just went through the shops listed in the server browser until I found something passable.

Frankly I would do one of two things:

    1) Not shop at all and work your way through the game by playing
    -or-
    2) use the trading forum. You'll find this suprisingly more reliable than the defendersstore.com as players posting what they want to sell are likely to check back.

From my experience, the majority of people I add from the Defendersstore generally get back to me within 24 hours and I get my item.

However, there are quite a few players on there who absolutely DO NOT accept friend requests for their shop and expect you to search through the shop games in multiple steam regions to try to find them. Those are probably the people you have been adding. Keep trying, some people actually use the site like it is meant to be used.

Also, very few players ever put transcendent gear of any quality into their shop, so that really cuts down on supply. You're much more likely to find pieces on the trading forums, but don't expect to pay in mana, since most sellers only accept tokens at this point. I have found just going from player shop to player shop is a waste of time and effort, as they will rarely have anything of worth in them.

I am sadly guilty of the same thing, as I just throw all of my bad transcendent pieces into my shop and auction off any that I believe will at least have some minor interest for an auction thread on the forums.

To answer the question that seems to have been ignored. There is a checkbox on the DefenderStore called "AFK Shop" which removes offline shops from the list.

Huh, that's pretty cool. So how does the website know, I wonder...

I assume the game doesn't ping the server occasionally while online. (Although that would probably be the best way.)

When you click the enable shop button, the site displays that your hero shop is up and it shows the name of your game. When you click to disable, the site reflects that your shop is offline.
