Thread: Dungeon Defenders Auction Website

    Question Dungeon Defenders Auction Website

For the past few weeks I have been working on an ebay-ish website strictly for Dungeon Defenders items. You can register for an account, post items with descriptions, and pictures. You can bid on items with tokens as the currency, and the type of token accepted is decided by the user who created the auction. Also, each auction has a set time limit so no more of this "I'm just waiting for someone to give me a good offer" nonsense we see all the time on the forum (even though there is an option when creating an auction for this type of sale).

With my private testing the system seems pretty solid with a couple of kinks that still could be worked out. However, I need a larger community of people to help me test it out. Mainly, those of you who have the ability to run nmhcmm on eternia shard maps. That way when the website officially launches we can have some good gear filling out the categories. With that said, I also would like to have people with a lot of mythic grade items so the website can appeal to more than one type of end-game player.

I am really not a fan with how the auction systems work through text on a forum so I have initiated the push for a change. I have included a poll in this post so please vote in it.

Also, I am possibly looking to hire someone to help with the website. I am not a good programmer so I need someone who is skilled in web design in general and mainly php.

If you are interested in being one of the first people to post your items on this website or if you think you'd be helpful in the coding of the website please email me at ddauctiontest@gmail.com

This sounds awesome and I admire the amount of work you must've been put into this! Sorry I can't help with any of the maintenance or set up since I lack both experience and knowledge on the subject.

However, I will try and contribute to the auctioning process as I have some gear that I'd like to auction

I will follow this thread and look forward to the updates!

    Quick Question:

Have you talked to any trendy mods/officials about this and what were their responses?

Thanks! I was wondering on their position and curious about their response on it. Goodluck!

If they would just incorporate the Defenderstore it would be awesome. But I like this idea since it doesn't appear that they want to do that...

Like Malenko above, I'd suggest some sort of interaction with DefenderStore, consider getting in touch with them .....

I'm in the computer software industry (business software) and would like to get involved in anyway that helps...

Just realised this is down a bit, It needs a bump as its a great idea for the community and one i'd be willing to support given I trade a fair amount of items.

    Would also save time immensely.

    Sounds awesome.

Is there progress or have you stopped working on it?

I can see where it would come in handy, but that would make users post on these forums less, making them less prone to checking the forums for updates. Keeping people active on the forums should be the top priority.

These forums use vBulletin, I'm sure if we look around a bit we can find some sort of auctioning plugin or even have someone code one.

    Your efforts are welcomed though.
