    Darkness trap

    I like to read the forums during breaks at work. Today I read about someone giving advice to another about sharkens saying they use a darkness trap to take away elemental affinity from them so poison base traps and auras still stop/ slow them down "WHAT !!!" I exclaimed out loud "Ohhh, that makes since. I knew darkness traps had to be useful in some way. I didn't realize they took away elemental affinity." being cautious I did an Internet search which lead me to the DD wiki page and I confirmed, darkness traps do indeed take away elemental affinity. Hurray!! The rest of the work day in the back of my mind I was reworking all my builds to include darkness traps where I could. Costly as they are in DU they save me from building repetitive traps and "just in case" defenses.

    Here's the meat. Just got home, tried it, doesn't work, WTF.

    Is it just on the consoles that the trap doesn't take away affinity and yet costs more DU than PC?

    If so I'm really surprised there hasn't been more of a community push to get this fixed. Though I understand the much more pressing issues. Let's not let Trendy forget to add this to the next patch

    I didn't even know they were supposed to work that way (since they never did seem to work to that effect for me). I try testing it more though and see if they work at all towards diffusing elemental attributes. I know that you can use gas traps in hard mode and lower but insane mode does not work as well with traps. try mixing in some auras for the shark critters.

    It's not that I have that much trouble with sharkens, I mean I do, but that's just cause I'm stubborn and refuse to build the decoys that every successful build I've heard of uses.
    I'm more just disappointed that a trap, that I feel confident saying everyone in the console community feels is worthless, could be of great value with a minor tweak.
    I mean, think about how useful apprentice towers would be if you could build affinity stealing darkness traps at key points.

    Yeah bro. That was my thread.. I tried some different stuff on Aquanos last night and I STILL can't beat it on Hard.. I did try the Magic Blockade Decoy method which seemed to work pretty well! But I get muuuurdered by the Boss..
