    Unhappy Ogre problems

    Hi guys/girls/staff,

I'm hoping someone can give me some good suggestions in regard to ogres.

Me and my wife have been playing nightmare hardcore survival for a while now (just beat the Kraken last night on NM).

One thing I just can't figure out is how to progress past the ogres shoving the EV walls.

Tonight, two ogres shoved the walls into scenery - we managed to kill them off (even with their 20m hp) and they took down about 20/30% of the crystals' health.

Personally I don't mind swapping heroes to build whatever is best - I have 4 toons over level 74, 3 over 78 and one on 83.

I just can't get it into my skull what's the good of having walls with 250K hp manage to only sustain 10k damage before being shoved into nearby scenery by an ogre. How are you supposed to progress if your walls can't take a punch?

Also, trying to rebuild the EV walls I noticed the nodes of a buff beam and EV wall can't intersect if the buff beam is laid down first - otherwise it's fine (hence buggering up your original layout if you have to 'move' your walls).

Anyone got any suggestions regarding our little ogre problem or how to place the EV walls that they won't budge when an ogre hits them?

I have read the forums and some are of the opinion that you need to create an air tight seal (when it turns from red to green), others believe it only really happens when the walls aren't flat on the floor.

Personally, I think it's just people trying to make sense of a bug that inherently stops progression on nightmare (seeing you can't 'tank' the harder waves because ogres get bored and shove the walls if they have to hit the wall more than twice).

Squire walling is an alternative - but not a viable option when ogres have 20 million+ hp - you need that DU to build other defenses to manage the other 1290+ mobs.

Aquanos - EV vs Squire walling example
Middle crystal: 5 DU (EV) 9 DU (Squire)
Bottom/Right Crystal: 8 DU (EV) 15 DU (Squire)
Total: 21 DU (EV) - 39 DU (Squire)
    Difference: 3 harpoons' worth DU

*Apprentice walls break in 3/4 shots of an ogre in NM under a strength drain on those waves - with 1k tower hp.

Ogres don't move walls, sharken do. Currently, the only way to deal with sharken is to gas them or kill them before they charge your defenses.

    Sharken definitely moves walls.

    * Occasional Client not seeing correct Sharken-pushed Tower Location resolved

I haven't recently noticed sharken pushing defenses through scenery.

    I took a screenshot: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/45ysb

I have seen this with my own eyes happen when an ogre is attacking a wall and no sharken around (on mistmire, east lane, coming from their spawn - only an ogre attacking the wall and suddenly it got shoved into the mountain).

I have also seen it happen, when mobs are stuck in a gas trap - pet kills a few and an ogre comes running through.

Edit: I am yet to see a sharken shove walls at a 90 degree angle (sideways) when charging them head on.

I have had sharken move walls FORWARD before, something a bit screwy with them charging, running over an object (Sending them up) and the charge takes place behind the wall instead of in front, it can push it any angle, although forwards is rare...

Ogres will never move walls, they might step over them when too many are pushing, but never move them.
Most likely a sharken charged, hit behind the ogre just barely touching your wall, and moved it - even though it died behind the ogre.

electric auras, they are your saviour, suitably buffed and with enough damage you will be fine to continue because they will kill everything (including shaken) allowing your towers to spend time on the ogre

OTHER ENEMIES ARE MOVING WALLS! I have had several walls moved when Sharken were NO were near them! ORCs love to move them in odd positions just like the OP described Ogres doing. I thought I was mistaken when I saw this crud going on but alas not the case. Something is broken! As for Ogres and walls they keep walking through them on me. I do not mean they destroy them or side step them or climb them. They do all the a fore mentioned for sure. I keep losing survivals because a giant one eyed bozo walks through the wall through every defense and one shots the crystal! I have been using EV walls exclusively as of late and can't rule out some glitches on the EV walls them selves. Yesterday I had multiple enemies walking through mountains on the cliffs map. There appears to be some serious collision issues with the game at times. OH well! Guess we keep reporting the BS and give Tendy the time to find the correct shovel for the job LOL.

yeah, im seeing this too. when sharken move walls, they REALLY move walls. like WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of position. i have frequently been seeing walls they are only slightly moved. and not to one side or another, like happens when sharken hit. they are just moved slightly back from where they originally were.

Come to think of it , I did have a wall nudged out of position recently. Was way less than a sharken usually would.
