I Would like to see a new difficulty or setting called "dream mode"
Dream mode is only unlocked after beating every stage on every campaign and every challenge on nightmare (subject to change)
In this setting all your stats will be reduced by 75%
DU is not shared meaning in magus quarters where you have 90 DU and 4 people each person would get like 25 (yes i know that adds up to 100, but with less synergy available and you cant have one person with high stats build, i believe more DU should be available for each person, or even 35 per person just incase one are is being guarded by a dps char when bad towers. he may need the extra du to deal with air or leaks)
The split DU would give the opportunity to each person gets 1 area and they have to not only build but dps to keep their area safe, this would also remove the ability of one person running multiples through content. Meaning the people who have done dream mode have truly committed to the team and did their job to help their team succeed.
the reduced stats setting would allow you to get even better armor and actually have a point in getting it, i am in all trans with 3k tower damage and 3k tower attack rate, increasing either of those by 1k more would be really hard and would not help that much, so with the reductions my stats would be around 700 for each one but if i got better gear it would actually be helpful again, it would bring back the challenging aspect to the game without needing to implement more creatures into each map. so when you get good dream mode armor your stats will be around 1500 in dream mode. Now you may be thinking if your stats are 1500 in dream mode doesnt that make your stats like 6000 outside dream mode? the answer is yes, when you went from hard to insane your stats went from 50s to 150s, when you went from insane to nightmare your stats went from 150s to 1500s when you completed everything in nightmare your stats are like 3000s so by the next difficulty it only makes sense to have 6000 stats however that would seem overkill and that is why stats should be reduced in this next difficulty.
"but wouldnt this make it so these "dream mode" champions be so high in stats they can run people through all the lower level content" Well to answer that im going to ask you if someone that has done nightmare stuff can run all of his friends through lower level content, the answer would be the same.
The reason this is subject to change is because Nightmare Mode is the scariest part of this with every annoying enemy on every map however Dream mode doesn't have to be that way, it could be unique enemies on each map but just make them very difficult by having split DU on glitterhelm people might not want to sacrifice too much to deal with spiders, that is why instead of making this gamebreakingly hard/easy we make it similar to insane difficulty in that it is just the map unique enemies and make the enemies extremely difficult like having the health and damage of Uber Monster fest, How fun would it be to hold off the enemies of uber monster fest with your own little area of DU and dps, with your stats being reduced? well it will sure be difficult, also just with any content there will need to be some balancing.
Its just right now it seems like I either build or I hold on button for half an hour saying im "DPSing" and when i build i want to stay on my builder for the 30% bonus and i just sit there, i want to be building and fighting and repairing while my team is all counting on each other to hold their own.
The major flaw I have come up with in this method is it is meant for max party teams, this is something that will need some tweaks to figure out how to make this work with maybe a few less members. I do not see this game mode working alone, the point of it is to have a section of the map and DU enough to defend it.
Please comment on ideas for it or votes to make it into the game if you like it.
