Minions not generating aggro like other defenses

    Hey Trendy!

It is great to see you so on top with all the bug fixes and balancing in the upcoming patch notes. One more thing that I noticed while going for the new achievement is that when I place my minions as walls the enemy monsters ignore them completely for the most part. Kind of like the EV decoy when it was bugged. They will sometimes attack my minions if the minions hit them enough, they never really go for them.

    The issue in short:
If i place a spike blockade near enemy monsters, they target it. If I place an minion orc or ogre near enemy monsters, they are like "That's nice. Now let me just run around you and blow up your crystal."

If this is the desired behavior to avoid using summoned minions as walls, that is okay too I guess. It just makes the summoner only achievement a bit harder.

    Thanks for your time,
    Pants

    EDIT:
After additional testing, I think it is the "movement" target that is the issue. The minions seem to generate attack aggro fine, but between attacks instead of heading for the minion they are attacking, the monsters continue on their merry way to my core.

Blockades and other walls are designed to attract monsters. They come pre-soaked with Monster Spray in order to attract monsters of the opposite sex to come hit on it.

First of all, the only gendered monsters have top hats or bows on their heads. Secondly, I think a shiny crystal sexy monster would be more attractive than a nice smelling blockade.
And finally, ignore those first two points. Your post made me laugh.

The only monsters I've seen actually target minions are the kobolds. If you put an orc right next to a spawn point - the light up and target him.

I have not seen this. What I HAVE seen is kobolds lighting up then running past 1 ogre 2 archers and a mage like they aren't there. Obviously this is a more complicated issue than I thought. Thank you for the extra info.

Kobolds are also a problem for me while trying for the RTS achievement. They just run by everything and blow up my crystal.

You can still use walls to get the RTS achieve. Or any other non-damaging defense

I've definitely seen Minions holding aggro before, so I suspect the situation is somewhere along these lines:

    1) Enemy sees your minions
    2) Before anything else, enemy sees Crystal
    3) Crystal has more initial aggro than Minions
    4) Enemy targets crystal unless Minions generate more aggro

If your Minions don't attack the enemy before it spots the crystal, they might not be able to take aggro back. Certain objects generate additional aggro once a monster targets them so the monster doesn't drop targets quickly (e.g. Walls do this)

This is the problem, combined with the fact that they spot the crystal THROUGH all the minions.
