is event weapons being rare a good thing?

Just wondering how other people feel about this.

Is it more important that event items be rare and retain more ” value” for the few people that have them, or is it more important that a greater number ofpeople are able to experience them and have fun with them while the items themselves lose ”value?”

I apologize as I see how I made a mistake in the title. I don't mean exclusively WEAPONS, but all event items. This isn't about whether or not event weapons should return to ps3. Classic has made his decision and however maligned it may be he doesn't seem to be up to discussing making any changes to that.


This is about the rarity of all event items be they pets, weapons, or armor.

screw beeing rare the point of events is giving items to as many people as they can

My personal opinion is that if they start doing weapons again they should not be equal to top teir weapons. The only event I ever did was the one for the soda, getting it kind of ruined the fun of the game for me. I get most of my enjoyment from furthering my characters, at that point the soda was leagues better than anything else you could get. Now that they switched to pets I've actually signed up for an event again.

Tl;dr : I'm all for event weapons as long as they aren't op

If the item is rare because the event is difficult than so be it. But if it's rare because the event took too long and they couldn't get people in or if there was some sort of technical issue than that's a different story.

But what if it's rare because it's a really good weapon, like what was done with the gunslinger.

no event weapons should be for people who earn them and are good players otherwise i see no point in even joining the events!
