bought from non steam location

So I ended up picking this game up the gamestop website for my pc, and I wanted to go download the other stuff from steam for the game, yet it says that I don't own the game and cant get the extras now? any tip instead of just having to buy the game again?

There is a non Steam version of the game, I believe. If you didn't get a code that you can redeem on Steam, then you don't own it on Steam and you would have to rebuy it.
