Morrago with apprentice.

Hi guy, i come with one questions about the apprentice.
My brother and i are having trouble with morrago hard and insane. We can do morrago on hard with two huntress, but when one of us use an apprentice we fail.

It's due to the Djinn and the ogre, our apprentice only have about 30k-50k of physical damage. And i saw on the forum some people are asking something like 100k damage, but how can you have such dps with an apprentice ? Which weapon do you use ?

We're thinking about doing summit to get a good 74 ignis but is it one of the best apprentice weapons before morrago ?

100k? I can do 500k and with only 200 hero attack, and I m keeping it low because I do not feel I have the need for more, I know people who reached 1.4 million and probably can go a lot higher
I really do not understand the obsession of everyone with the huntress, it just shows that people do not know how to play the game

want a killer apprentice?

find good hero armor (all 4 stats) with good resistance, and upgrade resistance, so you ll get 87% at all resistance categories
get a kairi, and upgrade the healinh and healing shots, to about 100 with 6 healing speed, rest put on hero damage
now if you are of low level, best bet you have to get a better weapon is, get a high elemental damage weapon such as a draconis ignis or a good alternative energy core
upgrade 5 projectiles and put charge speed to anything between 31-33
rest put in damage
this way you fire semi charged shots that do more damage, all you have to do is hold the fire button a little bit longer than you normally do

congrats you ve got yourself a tank

you cannot die, and you dealling some serious dps

after that, try doing morrago on hard to get a good undying rod
dont get fooled if it reaches only 1000 base damage, it still does x1.5-2.0 times the damage a tsuda does
again upgrade 5 projectiles and 31-33 charge speed rest in base
then start searching for better armor
still first upgrade fully resistance but trry to find some with more upgrades that you can then put to hero attack, or anything in your liking
to be frank if you get a good undying rod, you ll be dealing 500k easily even with low hero attack, and you ll be able to concentrate on other attributes such as overcharge and hero cast

Here's how you upgrade an apprentice staff. Points in Charge speed until it is around 25-27. Around that is fine. Remember to get the additional projectiles as often as you can, and they max at 5 projectiles. Then either choose base or elemental damage to put the rest of your upgrades in.

Tip: Try to get max base and fire resist before raising hero damage
Tip2: To get the max DPS hold down the charge button for a split second before shooting. Makes a world of a difference.

Edit:Opps, the weapon I use is Genie King's Shardstaff. Though an Oculus of the Genie King is just as good, maybe even better, my Shardstaff is better in upgrades.

I've got a question... Do you have a mainly apprentice build for Moraggo? I understand the needs for monk auras, but if you have any tips, they'd be greatly appreciated!

There's a video on youtube with all an Apprentice build on Insane (only STR auras or not). He fights as apprentice so he can rebuild towers as they fall. Great combo. But this is on PC so ....

Ah yes. That build looks grand, but I'm afraid that our towers are not yet beefed close enough to PC for that particular build to hold up. Thanks for the information though!

Thanks for the answer, i never really thought about upgrading the resistance, but it sounds pretty good. I'll give it a try today (farming glitter on insane again....).
And one more question, i went on the wiki and i saw the list of the staff and sword usable by the apprentice, does the ignis or the alternative energy core are the only really good elemental weapons before the dlc? What about the demonic heirloom or the spinal column ?
I also watch the video about the guy who run moraggo on insane with his apprentice, well it's quite impressive. But i don't think we'll be able to do the same thing on console.
Well now i just need to farm summit and glitter until i get new gear and weapons.

those are good too if you they have good stats
a good ignis pre patch could reach 100k dps

post patch I have one with 270k

main thing is upgrading resistance
even a tsuda doing 70k dps will do

I do not have an only apprentice
I have one which uses traps-auras, harpoons for wyverns and some fireball towers and magic missiles for creeps, but I dont really use it
I have 3 main builds I use for morrago, depending if doing it solo or with 2p, and whether I want to buiild everything quickly or organized
they all wotk just some take longer to build
I tend to go with the quicker build
