Thread: Value of tokens

I have a question, if 200m tokens take around 250m to make, most value them at 250m. 400m tokens take alot more to make, my guess is 520m, quit counting but it should be close. The question is this, why are they only valued at 2 200m tokens. If i put on this forum that i am wanting to trade 200m tokens for 400m tokens would you do it?? Why aren't we as a group putting more value into a 400m token. I think a 400m token should be 2.5x200m tokens. What do you think?

    400m tokens=2.5x200m tokens

In reality what do 400's accomplish? They save space and are more convenient, that's about it. People that are out or are limited in space may value them higher but I think the general population won't have this issue and thus will only value them as 2x200m tokens. I don't think think they should be valued any higher unless you always have a stock of 100+ tokens.

My problem with 400m tokens is that they are annoying to make. With 200m tokens i can easily just run insane assault pack 1 10x and have at least 5 or 6 valid 200m tokens items and it takes a a whole 10 minutes.

What are you going to do next week when max token value becomes 600m ? Its so much easier to list prices in the smallest unit then in a larger one. Like you don't go the store and they tell you an item cost 10 $10 bills. They say it cost 100$ and you pay however you want.

Carrying around 200m tokens does get tedious, I'd support valuing 400ms at 2.5 200ms, for convenience alone

I would support this, but this would make auctions un-necessarily (more) difficult. If you increased the value of 400 tokens, then you would have to differentiate and keep them separate in bidding. Ie you'd have some people offering 200s and others offering 400s and some even a combo of both for a single item, without equal value it'd be a mess.

400m tokens are already taking over even without the bump in value that most players should give it but dont. Its just a space saver. Soon(warcraft soon possibly) you wont have to state that 1 400m token is 2 200m token because nobody will use 200m token!

I agree with the base cost in millions of mana but then everyone has to be uniform in their value of tokens, and that will take alot of people working together, maybe a sticky poll voting for popular amounts for tokens. I do agree with uzra also, with the increased mana cap the 400m tokens are more viable but back to the initial topic, should still be worth more.

    My solution is:

You decide what quality of token to make. Ignore the actual value of a token and just bid on the total value in tokens. ie: I bid 1.2b in tokens. instead of: I bid 2 200m tokens and 1 400m tokens, so that's a value of 1.2b mana

So you are saying tokens are only worth what the base/vendor mana cost is?

Yes I believe rob is, My personal opinion is that the 200s just get treated as 250 and the 400's is 500 that way the 400 is still the cost of 2 200 mil tokens at least trade wise. Cant really get much easier than that.
