New Player Questions

Hey all, I picked up DunDef when it first came out, played it for a short period, then I got tied up with WoW stuff. Anyway, I've downloaded all the updates and I would like to start this game up again, fresh. I didn't get far my first time, around lvl 20.

Before I dedicate some serious time to this, I was wondering what a good first class/build would be to lvl. I will most likely be playing solo. But in case I do find a friend or so to join sometimes, what is a good character for solo play and maybe another on the side to have to play with friends.

Also, what would be the best way to lvl up? Just follow the campaign and then grind challenges or?

Lastly, are any of the DLC packs needed? I only have the default game.

Campaign with squire or apprentice. Whichever takes your fancy. And I'd recommend the quest for the lost eternia shards complete pack so you get into nightmare once you've completed the campaign
