DEV: Clarification on Projectile Team alignment / exploding cores

    * Fixed edge case where Projectiles could lose their Team alignment, potentially resulting in erroneous game loss (mysteriously exploding cores etc)

Could we get a clarification of what this means? Does this mean it was our characters' projectiles switching sides and hitting our own cores?

Is this expected to fix a small part, a large part, or all of the mysterious core death? (I know no guaranteed, just wondering about expectations on how large of a bug this was.)

Does this bug account for one-shot cores that were full, or just misc unexplained damage?

Yes, it could have happened if the creator-player of a Tower left the game with projectiles that yielded Splash Damage (Fireball Tower projectiles AFAIK), or if the tower was destroyed when the projectile was in-flight. It also resolves a remaining case where Reflected Enemy Projectiles would still damage your own Defenses.

Should theoretically fix any remaining erroneous core death cases except those in which enemies bust your core.

It certainly could if your towers were powerful enough under the right (wrong?) conditions

Looking forward to seeing how it handles for everyone after it leaves Beta tomorrow.

Its unlikely it addresses most of the situations people blame for it. Jeremy's cases are uncommon and don't occur with full defenses up. It is good to see these fixed.

However most of the so-called 'random core deaths', especially in Alch Labs, are people standing in the direct path between enemy and core (typically mages on staircases in the east and people standing on the stairs leading out of the core pit) and then moving away, causing the projectile to fly straight through on small maps. Fortunately the inclusion of reflector walls deals with this well. If you still think you're suffering 'random core death' in such a map, put a reflector in front of the crystal (1 du is usually spared anyway) and see what happens.

Golden archers seem to be more capable of shooting past your defenses to your core too, and if enough mobs bunch up on a wall sometimes they can knock Kobolds through smaller holes that they normally wouldn't have gone through. I think these are the main causes of "mysterious" core explosions. It is nice to see that the actual unintended ones are being fixed though.
