yeah i know that i did some research i need detailed stuff
During Prohibition, the manufacture, transportation, import, export, and sale of alcoholic beverages were restricted or illegal. Prohibition was supposed to lower crime and corruption, reduce social problems, lower taxes needed to support prisons and poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene in America. Instead, Alcohol became more dangerous to consume; organized crime blossomed; courts and prisons systems became overloaded; and endemic corruption of police and public officials occurred.
Although my heart may be weak, it’s not alone. It’s grown with each new experience. And it’s found a home with all the friends I’ve made. I’ve become a part of their heart, just as they’ve become a part of mine. And if they think of me now and then, if they don’t forget me, then our hearts will be one. I don’t need a weapon. My friends are my power! ~Sora
Once we go through, there's no turning back. It's victory...or oblivion. So, Sora...are you ready? Do you remember before? We stood facing each other on opposite sides of that door. Now we stand side-by-side. Let's go home together this time. ~Riku

About.com is always a useful website, oh look, they have a page for it! BBC has 2 pages for it, an article and a few snippits for GCSE History students(for anyone who doesn't know what GCSE is, search it), more targeted to 14-16 year olds taking history, but hey-ho information is information. Here are the pages: GCSE pagey thingy & an article. BBC is a very trusted with it's information also.
EDIT: Read through the article and actually talks about prohibation to todays standards.
shay
It happened sometime between the beginning of time and right about now.
