sooo i was told there's finally a way to find out if an item is a duplication of the real item. has this been confirm yet or should i not have much belief in what players say? =]

There is no such thing.

people keep saying that if you bring in an item of the same type that you know to be real that the dupe will disappear, but this is not the case. It only works if the item that is brought into the room is the one the duplicate was created from.
only way I can see to make this in any way better is to unlock our save files so everyone can back them up so that even if they do recieve a dupe it won't be a big deal if it disappears because they can just go back to a previous save.
sure this would actually INCREASE duping, but it wouldn't actually cause anyone any harm.....except those people who are all into the "rare" quality of things in this game.
If they unlock the save files then you'll be able to modify the file.. So not a good idea
If a code of an item meets the same code then it tells the game play what one is real
