It's plausible that the target leading math is using the mobs non slowed speed, but I haven't noticed this myself, though my tower placement seems to fire straight into oncoming guys, and whatever lateral leading of targets so far hasn't been with targets affected by snare.

My post on this from the PC Patch Notes Discussion thread.

You actually have to hope they 'miss' the target while tracking because once they get a lock they're going to keep not doing any damage but if you get lucky while they're acquiring the target they can sometimes get some fluke hits to register before they lock on to the fail spot.

The good news is spiders & other small monsters appear to be tracked properly so only half a failure at bug fixing rather than 100% as I've come to expect.

BTW I noticed this during my first play of Moraggo Desert Town (not first Nightmare, first on any difficulty at all). So about that beta testing team that have been working so hard the last 3 months while we've been waiting for this map....

That was both with & without Ensnare Auras (Djinns killed them sometimes before the harpoons could fail at tracking enough to hit them).

The harpoon is, and always will be a bad tower for hitting small targets and/or moving targets, because the rotation speed.

Thats why mage towers are so versatile, they just shoot to the target without animation

Harpoons just need a bigger hit box I think, cause they have a very hard time hitting spiders on equal floor level, despite the actual projectiles passing through them. If the hitbox were made just a bit bigger, they'd be immensely more useful as spider clearing towers, and probably fix the few remaining issues with them.
