Known Issues/Issues Being Investigated:
  • Game crashing on launching with Windows 8.
    There is no workaround for this issue at the moment.
  • Game crashing while playing on Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) with older MacBooks.
    There is no workaround for this issue at the moment.
  • Game will not launch.
    For some players if their Steam client is on another drive the game just doesn't open. They must rename DunDefGame.exe to DungeonDefenders.exe in their game client folder as a workaround.
  • Items get stuck behind dummy or in the portal.
    Only workaround is by picking up the item with an xbox 360 controller or using a 360 controller emulator.
  • Items can become unreachable in the secret room.
    If the item is "tossed" from character over the wall inside the secret room that runs along side with the stairs the item that is unreachable and can't be picked back up.
  • Defense is the best offense achievement isn't immediately rewarded.
    Usually doing another run but specifically dying on wave 10 will reward this or just playing normally.
  • Nvidia Geforce 6xxx/7xxx users see a black sky.
    In some cases if post processing is on, there is a white outline along the black.
  • Wrong selection during character select
    If while on the character select screen you use the arrow keys, two characters are now highlighted. The one that is highlighted by the keys is not an actual selection causing mis-swaps/deletions of the wrong character.
  • Spider web effect still stays on for weapons that swing.
    Even after the web effect is no longer present, the swing and attacks/moves that are in mid attack still happen slowly on the next attack.
  • Mistymire Forest Pure Strategy (Medium) Ogre issue.
    Waves 10-12 show yellow ogres will spawn but instead red ones do.
  • If you die during phase switch you won't respawn on Hardcore Mode.
    If you die during the build phase and don't respawn before combat phase starts on hardcore mode you'll be dead for that wave.
  • Barbarian's leap can get you stuck.
    If you use battle leap towards a monster but if misses due to various reasons(like monster already dead) there's a chance of you getting stuck. The battle leap is stuck in the on mode and the only way out is death in most cases.
  • Guardians can drop with an un-upgradable defense damage boost of 1.
    No matter how many points you put into the defense damage boost it will always be stuck at 1.
  • Pet stats roll over after purchasing from the shop.
    After purchase the pet stats actually change to something else. In most cases significantly negative.
  • Monk Guardian boosting on some traps causes too big of trigger radius.
    Inferno and Darkness trap when boosted by a monk guardian has a bigger trigger radius than effect. So monsters aren't hurt/affected until they wander in further.
  • Nightmare Mode not giving lower difficulty campaign achievements.
    Will need to be beaten on the lower difficulty until the bug is fixed.
  • Stats rolling over on gear.
    Reload, knock back, charge, and block can sometimes roll over to a negative number depending on how high of value it has.
  • Imps poor repair on traps and targeting.
    Imps will only repair 1 trap fire at a time and can get set on sitting there just repairing the trap instead of other defenses.
  • Setting both a survival and pure strategy filter shows nothing.
    If you use both search filters it doesn't show anything even if one is selected on and the other off.
  • You can die while entering the tavern.
    Seems to mostly happen when entering other player's taverns especially if the tavern is laggy to the player joining.
  • Controller users unable to rebind right stick(press).
    In some cases it will still just control the camera and in other functions it just won't do anything.
  • Spiders spawning in pure strategy.
    Since there are no players they don't know what to do.
  • Mix mode different monster counts on when additional players join.
    If players join during combat phase, the next wave will have significantly more monsters vs if the players were to join during the build phase.
  • Stone's Throwers Spear unable to upgrade ranged damage.
    In some cases the ranged damage won't allow you to upgrade, usually if the weapon spawns with 3 ranged damage.
  • Riddle of the Deep puzzle doesn't work.
    If players delay entering the puzzle room until the last wave the puzzle doesn't light up and the only way out is the killme command.
  • Summoner issues on city in the cliffs map.
    Some summons have problems walking up ramps or accessing certain locations on the map. In just a few areas the green notification of like a move command isn't displayed on the ground.
  • (Mac Only) Configuration menu doesn't appear.
    For some Mac users the configuration menu doesn't appear and changes need to be done manually.
  • (Mac Only) Failed to create game.
    Even with the -tcp command in Steam, Mac users may not be able to host games and will always get a failed to create game message.
