Easy solution to appease console DD owners

I think by now its pretty obvious that anyone who purchased dungeon defenders on a console (ie xbox 360 like me) feels pretty screwed.

I mean this is a great game, with a ton of potential, and someone who legitimately went out and purchased it won't even get to to play the majority of the game. (not to mention most console gamers paid 15$ for it, while pc gamers likely got it for a tiny fraction of that price)

So I would think as a way for Trendy to keep their consumers, and to make them happy, would be to offer anyone who purchased the game/dlc on a system the opportunity to play whatever it was that they legitimately purchased (ie I bought the full game + eternia dlc on xbox) on the pc for free.

I dont really care about character transfers or anything like that, but at least let us play the FULL game that we paid FULL price for on the only system that you guys care about without having to pay twice. Plus as a result you guys will have a larger customer base who im sure will eagerly await and purchase all the DLC we missed out on.

Especially since the online multiplayer on xbox 360 is absolute crap, since literally EVERY SINGLE GAME on there is littered with modders hackers cheaters whatever.

Do the right thing trendy, treat the people who purchased your game the right way !

Huge profit loss if they allowed that.

By expecting people to legally purchase the game twice ?

I would think in the long haul it is more profitable to do the right thing for your customer. Not to mention how much DLC is there that the console gamer can now buy once they have the REAL version of the game, not this console version thats a complete sham.

I mean theres already 15$ ~ in DLC on the pc version off the bat plus any future pc dlc which they already announced is never going to see the console version.

I would think in the long haul this is virtually guaranteed to make them more cash. Unless they think that after getting screwed once console owners are just gonna say thank you may I have another ?

I'm not sure if this is srs either. You paid for the game you got on console. How is that not the full game? Because there are different versions on different platforms? Just because console didn't get the same thing that PC got, doesn't mean you didn't get the full game.

If TE did something like this, then it would only be fair that if you purchased the game + eternia DLC on PC, then you should be entilited to a free copy of the console version.

Wasn't aware there was some hidden part of the game that was offered to PC for free that you don't get simply because you're on a console. You paid for the full game, you got the full game, you can enjoy the full game. Everything after that initial purchase is EXTRA. Why don't people understand this? If Trendy left it at just that, would you consolers still be QQing in every post? It's like the Brian Regan joke.

I know it's not a perfect analogy, but it's pretty close. You're complaining about how the PC version is different, so why isn't yours the same. You're comparing completely different platforms though which more closely relates to the joke.

You bought the full game already. The DLC is DLC, it is extra content. In most games, there is different content on different platforms and in some cases the game is completely changed for different platforms (eg games that appeared on say an N64 were quite different to the game with the same title on gameboy). Does that mean that if I purchase a game and it doesn't get as much DLC as other platforms or different content as other platforms, then I have a god given right to the full content on any other system?

    Also not sure if serious.

Trendy can go this route if they want to. Nobody who has posted before me is a part of Trendy's customer relations, so consider yourself still asking a favor from Trendy dcm1602.

I say favor because implementing a system to allow console players to move freely from console to PC will cost them money. If Trendy decides they could take the time to do this, they need to have reason to believe the DLC will be a hit for everybody that moves over, which may be difficult to prove.

After all, the loss would have to be made up some way, or they will go under.

Again, nobody who has posted before me is aware of the financial standing of Trendy and what losses they are able to incur for their customers.

I love how you call out Console gamers as complainers. How's about you "holier than thou" PC gamers? Every time the latest patch hits you PC nerds flood the forums with hundreds of butthurt "THANKS TRENDY!!1" threads. So don't start with that.

Oh, and your analogy fails. Please try harder.

I have never called all consolers complainers. I have consoles myself and do not complain. You also don't see me complaining heavily when things break on PC. If I complain, it's valid and constructed in a manner that can be used by Trendy to better the game. Not: "OMG WHY IS EVERYTHING SO BROKEN SCREW YOU TRENDY" or "WHY DOES MY CONSOLE NOT GET EVERYTHING?! I'M LEAVING THIS GAME" That's REAL constructive.

And the analogy fits. Corded phones have nothing to do with people on the moon. Console games have nothing to do with PC games. Just because the same game exists on both platforms does not mean they can be treated equal. Here, let me spell it out for you. "They can put DLC in the PC version, but they can't put nightmare in the console version!"

Quit your whining about it. Here's the truth of the matter. You act like you're all innocent and Trendy's done you wrong. Did you ever bother to look at whether Trendy made a PC release of the same game before buying it? I'll bet you didn't. If you had never learned about the PC version would you still be whining? Why now, all of a sudden, do you feel entitled to everything? I always research games before I buy them. I know that PC is better for developers and if a game has a console and PC release, I will usually buy it on PC unless I hear that it's a terrible port. If it does not have a good PC release, I will buy it on console. Instead of crying that one single platform can't have everything, I adjust because I know how it works. Just because you choose to not learn how things work does not mean Trendy should suffer.

Ow god, this is like TF2 all over again.

Patch is in the works, just wait, simple as.

@Sakisan stop feeding on tears of rage, it's bad for you.
