Dungeon Defenders II game Status:
Are ogres supposed to walk through my apprentice walls?
Just wondering if this is intended or not. They just kind of phase right on through them, seemingly about 20% of the time.
I'm just getting started on NM stuff and am not yet geared enough to survive for long if an ogre just decides the walls aren't there.
With survival, the large mob counts (Especially ogres) will cause them to use any path available when they pile up. They can walk over anything you can walk over, so test your walls. One apprentice wall will rarely be enough and placement matters.
For example, on Alch Labs, if your walls don't cover the railings properly, they can walk up the railings onto the ledge, or up the railings onto the bookshelves, same as your character can do. With Misty around the southeast and northeast entrances, the curves on the trees and the cart if your walls aren't done properly will allow them to edge their way over. With Magus Quarters, if you don't block it fully, they can get up on the railing to those corners just as you can. Just a few examples of commonly picked maps.
It isn't random, it isn't any sort of phasing - it does, however, take some getting used to.
I'm aware of the survival thing, but this was on normal HC NM. He didn't go around it, I was sitting there waiting for him and watched as he just walked through it. It's happened a few times already, which is why I made the thread.
If its the east lane on Mistmire you had the problem, yes the will go up on the wagon and over. We place the far left wall half way ontop of that wagon to avoid it.
Survivals not any different, its just with the larger mob counts and higher powered/faster mobs, its way more likely. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen in normal.
Yeah, it was that lane. I'll reposition my walls there. It doesn't actually show the ogre go around the wall though, it just seems to walk right through it.
