    Just wanted to say I am joining you all. I'm 90 hours in, with some fantastic items (I can do most nm runs), and lost all of it today. Sent an email to lostheros, but from the looks of it I shouldn't be too optimistic. As a software developer myself, I would think this would be a top priority (and maybe it is), but from the looks of other posts this problem has been around for quite a while. What a shame.

    If you send a message to lostheroes they will get back to you. Last I heard they have an entire team diving into it and making sure anyone who does submit a request get a response as fast as possible. So if you do submit a request today you'll get a response within a few days now instead of weeks.

    Well I have only been playing for about 30 hours and just lost 2 characters of reasonably low lvl i guess... but still, the idea that there is no recourse but to hope for an email response I find kind of lacking. I would rather have paid a bit more for the game and have the knowledge that my stuff is easily recovered than have to deal with all the *** pain of getting problems like this fixed on a "cheap" game

    I got an answer, answered the question 1+ week ago seeing as my response to do as they requested took me a bit of time due to work.

    But still no response concerning the compensation.

    That's what happened for me too Wally. They offered me a billion mana after about a month of waiting, but could do nothing to restore the gear or achievements that I had spent hundreds of hours to obtain. I'm sure I can get them again in a lot less time since I have a lot more experience now and gear is also inflated quite a bit since then, but thats still hundreds of hours lost. I had played the game at least a hundred hours in every single game mode (easy, medium, hard, and insane). My lifetime stats will never be accurate now because they don't include all the time I've actually spent playing the game. I still have Steam achievements for things that I don't even have a trophy in my tavern for because they were all erased and I don't want to go through all the effort to get them again. I didn't want a billion mana I wanted all my achievements and characters back, so I told them to keep it. I actually complained about them giving away 20 million mana at Christmas because I thought that was too much. I just want to enjoy the game as it was meant to be played and to have my characters and achievements secure, which it appears they are not given their inability to restore them.

    If you have to wait a long period of time I wouldn't count on getting your characters back, but you will eventually get some kind of compensation.
