Returning Player, some questions

I originally picked this up at launch. I had to step away after just getting the hang of farming Assault on insane to the drop being nerfed (It was a fair nerf but I just spent so much time gearing to farm this one spot).

Long story short I want to try to get back into this but I feel so behind the eight ball. Before I stopped playing I was using this build to farm mana/power level:

Now however due to changes to certain tower DU costs/mobs being beefed up? I am unable to get past wave 8/9.

Here are the current stats on my builders, note all of them are level 70:

Squire: 148/154/79/125
Apprentice: 16/138/9/107
Monk: 103/123/93/86

I also have a Huntress but she used a Hero build and I'm not going to bother respecing her until I find some gear. At the time of making these characters I sacrificed Tower Range for either Run Speed or Cast Speed depending on the defender, that is why this stat is so low.

Would anybody be able to recommend a guide for me to get back on my feet? I hardly have enough mana to start buying myths. Is it even worth upgrading my current gear or should I just save for Myths?
