Well after playing the final boss it would seem that the games story line has finally come to an end. However on the last cutscene it leaves it on sort off a cliff hanger about what will happen next( something about the worst is yet to come?)

So my question is like the title says will there be a DD2? (possibly awsome i they keep the same mechanics and graphics :p)

Or will there be a new dlc alot like etheria shards pack with 4 maps over a period off time being released? Although my tavern may run out off room for tropghys :p)

Or is this the end off DD, the most addicting game i have ever played...

The new room in the tavern has a [CONTENT DELETED DUE TO MAJOR SPOILERS] which may provide a plot hook for future DLC.

All I can say is this: The tavernkeep may not be trustworthy.

Though, the first secret room already told us that.

I'd really love to see an expansion or more Shards like DLCs. It's one of the best games I've ever played. Almost no other game have I played for so many hours. It would be sad if Trendy decided to seize supporting DD. Hope that doesn't happen anytime soon.

Expand the tavern to a small village with a big trophy room ;)

Well, another DLC is certainly Jester.

After that I would like to see some final touch like endless survival. Let people play this game indefinitelly if they want (many certainly do). I will post this suggestion in some weeks.
If nothing similiar will come, I can also make some conversion on my own ;)

Love the idea off he village!!!!!!! Trendy make this now!

Also bringing out the jester sort off gives it away i suppose that the game is going to continue as there would be no point in bringing hin out for them then to stop supporting it an making new content

Tbh i thought that survival should off gone on forever from the start but going to 30 takes a while as it is so maybe it could take all day for endless which for some people isnt such a bad thing, but suppose you could just stop when u want so that wouldnt make it so bad

I really hope they just keep doing DLC. I would hate to have to start everything over. I have grown rather attached to my characters, wouldn't want to give then up either

DD2 would be a poor idea for Trendy and would lose to much. DD itself is not a game you make a sequel to unless there is so many changes to the gameplay they wanted to add they would have to create a new game but that isn't going to happen. So it will all be DLC content.

If they were going to make a DD2, it wouldn't come out till late 2013 or early 2014, considering they're still actively working on this game, making a new char, a new map, and possibly adding more content in the future. They would either have to get an entirely new team to start working on it now, start working on it themselves while still working on this game (which would push the dates of both DD2 and all the future DLC for this game way back), or finally say "This game is finished", then move on to DD2.

I'd like to see a lot more DLC for this game to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I'd do backflips if they announced they were working on a DD2, but there's already so much to do in this game, and more stuff never hurts. For example, I'd like to see more bosses, or maybe a new Boss Rush mode that has 100% new bosses instead of the old ones (boss rush is <3, love it, and I'd love to see more like it).

But anyways, for DD2, I'd really like to see some new classes. Obviously the biggest selling point would be the four original heroes, but maybe they could give them some new towers and abilities, like have the story progress a few years into the future. Or, they could even have it way in the future, so the children/descendants of the original heroes are in the spotlight, and as such have new abilities and towers. I'd love additional characters right off the bat as well, either available right as you start the game, or unlock able at certain parts of the story, or by doing achievements or secret challenges.

I completely disagree. Trendy has admitted the DD become much larger then they intended. The game it self has certain limitations because of this. I would fully support a DD 2 that was designed for the PC (maybe ported to console) that takes full advantage of the lessons that have been learned along the way with DD.

2 of the more important things id like to see:

Dedicated Taverns: Allow players to run a dedicated tavern as a separate program. This could either be run on a machine in the players home or players could rent them in a similar fashion to renting dedicated TF2 servers (from a 3rd partying hosting company). This would have many benefits not the least of which would be allowing tavern stores to be active with out having to have the full DD client running.

Revamped Item Generation: Generate items on secure trendy hosted servers making modding significantly harder. A more secure system would potentially allow integration into the world of steam trading.

I think Trendy has stumbled onto a great game play style and underestimated its potential. The content that has been added on has been great, but the foundation that is DD could be much stronger. I would be more then happy to pay for a second base game installation with the lessons learned taken into account.

I find that if they made a DD2 I wouldn't really like it that much. I foresee myself having around 1k hours by the time I actually get everything in this game, I already have over 600. I would hate to do it all over again. IMO DD2 would have to absolutely blow away DD1 in terms of everything before I would consider moving to a whole new game. Of course I also think they should release new content for DD1 until people really want a DD2. That way everyone wants to move to DD2 and they will far more likely to.

Probably a standalone DLC. New heroes will be great too. I'm sure trendy will be working on a different oroject though.

The thought of having to start completely over would turn me off completely. Having to re-grind all the countless hours of farming for amazing gear, etc, etc would be too much. Maybe a dlc that exports all of your info into the new game or whatever would be amazing. But...thats jut my 2 cents

I wouldn't mind a DD 2, but it's to early, imo. DD has been out to the PC for only around a year (Halloween was the first DLC if I remember correctly). I am not nearly anywhere to call the game "finished", but with my nearly 200 hours of gametime that is much more then many other games can claim to have been played by me.

The Jester has been announced and it was also said that she will come with a new map. Palantir also still has to be released for ranked. I think at least one more DLC campaign is needed to wrap up the story, as the ending basically said "COME AT ME BRO!1" and it didn't look to be finished anytime soon. But after that? Why not. In 1 or 2 years I could see a DD 2.

I'd want it to be on the Unreal 4 Engine.

I would love to start over fresh if they made a new game. I love where the game is at today, and where my characters are at (can't said I'd like some better gear though ^_^), but my favorite memories of this game was grinding Servant's Quarters Medium for 1-2M per wave with my friends, and thinking we were the richest players ever. There's nothing like starting fresh with a new game, it's the best feeling in the world, specially if you have friends to share the experience with.

You hit level 90 around 383m exp. You can continue gaining exp up to 433m. I assume they have more content planned, and a level boost to go with it, because of that.

Them saying that means nothing other then it was a bigger hit then they thought. And those are things they can simply just add-on. Apparently you don't know much about game development. Making DD2 would initially hurt them in the long run because ALL this DLC and how much money they are making off it there is no reason to make a whole new game. You may still disagree, but Trendy knows what they are doing and probably won't make a DD2 for now. IF they ever do, the earliest would be 2015/2016 and that's pushing it because they already stated they are going to add more to the story and we all know that's continuing on with this current game.

Actually since the beginning you could always go up the extra level and cap your xp, so doesn't mean they necessarily plan on moving it up more.

im not to sure about DD2 all the time i put into characters gone, and what could they REALLY do to DD2 that'd be game changing, they have to change enough that its worth buying but they can't change to much and feel like its not the same experience. really new monsters seem a bit pointless what more could they add? if anything they should just add expansion after expansion with more characters and maybe a Mo' Monsters dlc because i doubt i'd buy DD2 if it was basically the same game with taller characters which you can already have in the first game.

As much as I love DD, DD2 is needed tbh.

That or an engine revamp ( which costs as much ) . The game just cant handle more than 2 players on shinny maps with thousands or flashy enemies.

Now , if they fix this... I can see DD1 lasting a long time.

If not... Well... Having a cooP tower defense game that pitches you against 1k purple flash speed like mobs , one frame at a time while travelling back in time to watch your own helpless death.... Aint exaxtly fun :p

Like i said, fixing the breaks/lag is priority( or should be). If that can be done, ill keep goin at it.

If it cant be fixed sue to the current coding/engine... Wrap it up and do better, bigger , bolder.

DD2 :

- More tower types
- Reworked immunities on mobs ( physical immunity would be great for instance or anti piercing, armored)
- Skill bar choosing ( a la Guild wars, set number or towers to pick into the the game but you choose which )
- Reworked gear upgrade system
- Define or remove armour types. Chain for melee dps, mail for ranged tanking, leather ranged dps, etc etc)
- Crafting gear, i.e : merging two plate helmets yields another plate helmet with mixed random stats and upgrade levels.
- Have stat points count. 1 should count as much as 10 right now. No point in heavily inflating numbers just to make big.
- Perhaps make resistance stats separate from the normal stats, making it possible for builders to have good resistances and actually stay alive.

Towers :

- Make it possible to assign tower priorities
- Have towers change a little per upgrade ( ala Tf2 engy sentries )
- Ability to move towers , during build phase. That way jester could retain the ability during combat.
- Manual aiming towers! First person view at shooting !

Got more but im at work :p
Mainly : Fix the lag.
