[I think this is actually quite funny... I will not delete the following that I've posted which came before this, incase someone had exactly the same problem that I've had. But as i was writing this and had almost given up all hope, I tried the most obvious thing that I should have tried before anything.. I used the pogram "powersuit" to update my NVIDIA GTX 590 drivers, which fixed my constant appcrash. By all means powersuit is not required, just update your graphic card drivers. I feel quite stupid posting this post, but there you go..]
Hello, I've just bought dungeon defenders complete DLC after my mate recommended it, I took to the idea and looked forward to be playing with him.
Unfortunatly as the title indicates, I cannot even start the game. I've schemed the forums and google numerous times for a workaround, and tried what I think is every solution that there has been suggested. Will quickly summarize just so you don't have to ask me to do so.
-ANTI VIRUS: I've disabled my antivirus before installing DD onto my steam. Currently I use sunbelts anti virus program "VIPRE" (I will not uninstall it, as that will course me to loose my anti virus subscription entirely, as I see it, it's the devs job to circumvent the anti virus for their game to work, not mine.)
-VERIFY INTEGRITY: Did this after reinstalling before launching anything.
-REINSTALLED: 3 times now.
-RENAME THE .EXE: I've renamed the "dundefgame.exe" to "DungeonDefenders.exe" and also renamed the old file with that name to have the extension of .old, whereafter i launched "DungeonDefenders.exe" directly from the clients folder, instead of "DunDefgame.exe" appcrash, it's simply renamed "DungeonDefenders.exe" appcrash.
-CHANGE REGION SETTING: Changed my region language to english, great britian.
-HAMACHI: I do not have any third party programs like hamachi installed.
-DOWNLOAD MANUAL INSTALL FILES: Downloaded and installed the "DunDefManualInstallFiles.zip" no help to me.
When I first downloaded the game I could get the launcher working, but after reinstalling it, it seemed to stop the launcher from ever popping up anyhow, but before reinstalling I tried to use my custom monitor resolution in the GFX options, it did not stop the game from crashing anyhow.
I will say that I've noticed that after the appcrash, the DungeonDefender.exe or DunDefGame.exe (depending on wether you launch the game after the workaround or just directly after installing where it uses the original file.) The process seems to be running and have a usage of 60k memory and 25 CPU, thats impressive for something that has already crashed, though I see the logic behind why it probably is running in the background..
Also noticed that after the appcrash, I can verify integrity and it continously find 1 invalidated file, though if I run the verify integrity just after verifying, it finds nothing, so something corrupts the client folder after the appcrash, or so is my observation.
