Looking for specification on Trans weps

Hey I am still hunting for a good trans wep, its proving to be difficult.

My question, Are shotguns viable? on wiki it shows shotguns with 8 peirce targets, and bone bows with 4 pierce targets.

I currently use bone bows, have also heard chain guns are good.

The issue is almost 80% of trans weps I find are shotguns. I am attempting to farm my own because buying has proven to be a huge pain (not due to lack of mana, just can't find anyone selling any trans weps)

Any suggestions?

well i am not a pro hunter but ill tell you what i know so far:
people like this weps:
machine gun for single target dps
disk thrower and bone bows for mob clearing
retribution has really nice dps if close to enemy but u wouldnt want to be close to an ogre, would u??
the magic lamp from uber monster fest from the sky is really nice ( havent tried it but saw 1 and i really want 1)

i am still lving a huntress to lv83 to try a supreme flamethrower i got from riddle of the deep, dunno about their dps, after i get some ups on it ill let u know how it goes.

I got a magic lamp from Uber Death from Above that's got my DPS over 1 million if I stand right up to the dummy and all 3 projectiles hit. That was just from playing on Insane, and I did it with out a Summoner. I plan on working my way up to Nightmare mode, because the lamp you get from that should hopefully be awesome...

Shotguns are not really viable for dps. I like the lamp gun it was a pain to do NM uber but that was pre nerfs to the ogre copters. I also like the gun from sky city lots of single target dps. I have never been a fan of the flamethrowers but they are decent. Sadly the hunt feels like the worst class to dps with :-(. its my dps class when I want to go back to insane and play around I can be invisible for ever.
