Well the thing is before all the patches my friend was telling me he heard about animuses with splits but they are extremely rare. He could have been wrong but rumors did circulate.

yes i heard after the patch there will be animus with 2 projectiles. but rare but possible

I have to agree with that statement, even with extra projectiles its no laser robot. It does pierce or shoot through walls, and really what apprentice needs help killing x.x the mentor was great it gave the monk some use, like one of my friends took the time to level up a dps monk because now he didn't have to jump to hit a djinn or lose a defense trying to shoot one due to lack of damage output.
