There needs to be a bigger distinction between the damage done by Transcendent and Supreme weapons.

Granted that the amount of upgrades and the base damage are found to be higher going up the quality scale, but other than that, a supreme weapon with 160 upgrades could be less powerful than mythical with 242 ups.

Here is my suggestion.
Leave Mythical quality weapons as the base, the Transcendent weapons upgrade cap of 80 (taking example of a base hunteress weapon) could be moved to 100 (25% cap increase over Myth), and for Supreme weapons upgrade cap of 80 could be moved to 120. (50% cap increase over Myth).

that would be cool!, cos yeah onlything different is the stat caps, so the upgrade cap could go up too!

I definitely agree with this. As it stands hero damage is a joke compared to towers and pets in NM and this is a nice way to make higher quality weapons stand out while helping make hero damage more useful late game.

I'd go one further - Mythical are the first tier of "special" quality gear.

Set a minimum requirement for Mythical weapons: 50 upgrades, upgrade 20% faster for damage per level (80/level -> 96/level) and base damage at spawn equal to at LEAST 50% of the "maximum" possible natural spawn damage (high-low) range of the weapon at a lower quality. So for a flamethrower or minigun, since the base damage at level 1 is usually fairly low (huge number of miniguns with a damage range of 9-20), then make the minimum damage at level 1 be 16 (50% of the difference between high and low).

Of course, the ACTUAL maximum natural spawn is different, but it's something they can at least work into the game and start creating caps on the weapon types. Then you can actually start finding the "best" of a weapon.
