Dungeon Defenders and Black Screen of Death

Ok. I've done tons of research trying to solve this problem to no avail. I have an nvidia ge-force 9700M GTS and i remeber back when shard first came out I wasnt having an issue with black screening... now that I came back (or tried to) I am black screening all the time. Except for system updates and nvidia driver updates nothing has changed for me since then. My gfx card is fine... my hd is fine... my cpu is fine... what gives?

Sometimes I'll get maybe 20mins of playtime before crashing but most often it happens when I hit play online button or go to the chara select screen.

First verify your cache to make sure that isn't it.

1: Open your steam library
2: Right click Dungeon Defenders (http://i.imgur.com/UyPCa.jpg)
3: Click properties (http://i.imgur.com/JvLz2.jpg)
4: Click local files (http://i.imgur.com/TO5wC.png)
5: Click verify integrity of game cache (http://i.imgur.com/IZDGD.png)

Then if that doesn't help please send us your crash logs and we can see a bit more of what's going on.
