Are we seriously expected to play 5 hour games?

I've been doing survival misty to try and get some gear and to make it to wave 30 takes about 5 hours. Is this really what is expected to get the best gear? It's not like you have to do it a single time either. I've done a few runs and have't gotten a decent trans. Kind of losing interest because it seems a bit out of whack.

you can now start on later waves.. if you can get to 30 you should easily be able to start after 18,, cutting the amount of time it takes drastically...
once you get geared enough, you can start on 28, run to 30, in under an hour, farming the 3 hardest waves for items.

i remember doing insane survival, starting from 1 every game, and it taking far far longer becuase of much higher mob counts on the older maps...

is it just me? I've done round 16 on pure strategy and when I try to begin earlier a next game it keeps saying maximum round 8 wtf

Hi, welcome to the grind. It's a completely optional part of Dungeon Defenders that is sort of a Mobius Strip. See, you do these survivals to get better gear to make it farther in...yeah! Survivals! At the current time, it's possible to complete the entire campaign with stats well under 1000, possibly even 1/2 of that if you are careful. This is end game at the current time. The ONLY thing you need the 'best gear' for is more survival.

Sounds to me like you won already? You don't enjoy it, so quit while you are ahead? May change in the future, but that's what all games like this are, an endless search for stuff that is more shiny than what you have.

It defaults back to 8, but you should be able to click the up button to go higher. Make sure you're playing on the same difficulty and mode and same hardcore or lack of hardcore setting.

But shall they bring it to consoles, b/c currently MM is the only map to be able to effectively play survival on which you have to buy.

Yeah it pretty much blows to be on consoles but we do have one good thing!
