View Full Version : Request: Max Level Limit Feature

I personally would love to see a max level limit added next to the min level limit feature already in tavern.
I want it for the very exact reason people wanted a min level limit. I'm tired of 74+'s joining my Insane Glitter runs, and I try to resist the urge to kick them, because I just know another 74+ is going to join anyway.
I want to do IG runs with heroes no higher than 60 or 74, and adding this max level limit feature would do exactly this.
I'm sure other people have different reasons for wanting this as well, especially newer players to the game who just wants to be with other heroes their own levels in Easy/Normal/Hard games without any high-leveled heroes coming in.
I implore you for this feature! Please!

I was actually wondering why this wasn't added along with the min level restriction. Sometimes I just want to start a new char, in a public game, from scratch without somebody higher level coming along and ruining the gameplay.
I would definitely love to have this feature.

A minimum level limit without a maximum definitely doesn't make sense. Not sure why they did one without the other either.
Can't say I'd be booting 74's on glitter insane even on my lowers though. I need the exp and they need it too :P One insane glitter run gets you to level 70 anyways on hardcore with 4 players. And only a few more to get to 74.

I can see the "max level limit" for when running the campaign. I don't really understand the reasoning for glitter runs, since no real harm comes from having a higher level person there or anything.
For campaign, I'd particularly like to be able to set the min and max to something like "2 levels less than my level up to 3 levels above it" so that as my level changes as we go, the limit self-adjusts to make sure anyone joining is approximately in our range.

Something else to consider is the fact that a character someone is on might not be (and probably isnt) their only one. Personally I tend to just ask people that join if they have a char around 'x' level instead of assuming they for some reason only play 1 char and booting them.
A way to re-select your char at the game list is pretty much necessary at this point. You can't go back to the char select screen without backing all the way out to the title screen or starting/joining a game and going to a forge. So if you want to see games on the list that you can play with other characters, you have to go through a lot of hassle. Most of the time I'm willing to do a char-swap to play a game geared towards that chars level. (And usually would anyways)

I dont see why that matters for insane glitter runs. You are all there for XP, why does level matter? So for that reason it makes no sense to me. But I do agree that there should be a max for 1 reason. That would be for people who would like to play the game with other lower levels to go through the game instead of just glit farming XP.

But I have these days where I'll be in the mood to be noob-friendly, and would like to welcome three lower-leveled players who have no qualms being power-leveled and I'm usually more than willing to answer their noob-like questions.

Upcoming Patch Notes regarding level adjustments is GREAT! Very excellent for low-level hosts... but where's the love for the 78 hosts? Despite being a 78 builder, I still want a max level limit preventing other 78's or 74's from joining my games.

While i like the idea of adding maximum level, i think it should be changed how it works...
Games you may not join should show min/max lvl in lobby, with them being at bottem of list and greyed out when not joinable or something
And then add the option to change character in lobby...
Also why is it impossible to filter games with a minimum host level of above 70?
At times i would like to filter it to 74+, but i am for some reason not allowed to put it above 70...
