After discovering my UMF inferno edition didn't have a fast enough kill rate, because enemies have to actually be in the infernos for it to work, and not gassed outside of them, I started getting creative.
This has 3 magic missiles pointing backwards, buffed, with 7 fireballs, one backwards, and 7 lightning towers, all 14 sharing one buffbeam.
It seems odd to have so much lightning, but it works surprisingly well. Fireballs deal with ogres (with help from a darkness trap), while lightning handles everything else. I tested this on nightmare with 400-800 stats, and it worked fine through wave 13. I kept dieing on wave 13, to elemental wyvern, or ninjas, or other crap, ending the game early, but I was WAY ahead on the the killcount/timer ratio. If you have a good monk, swap one fireball for a strengthdrain aura to keep yourself alive.
If you were duoing this with someone, the fireballs can be swapped easily for harpoons.

Not sure why you are so negative. They reduced the djinn per player count by 3, and ogres by 40%. This is a very reasonable strategy to do. I actually AFK'd through one round. The lightning towers took out bulk crap hp monsters so fast, that everything spawned very early, giving me lots of time to deal with ogres, with my not so amazing DPS.
It does help that my walls are pushing 190k hp from my level 77 series EV.
The fireballs do about 220k DPS and the lightnings do 16.7k DPS, but to 36 targets.
I was very happy with the amount of mana this pulled in!
Wave 12 finished with 32m.
I'll take a SS later

how can you handle the ogres with just 2 fireballs and no ensare aura ? in later waves there will be 4 5 at a time
lightning does no damage to ogres, thats the main problem i have when using those towers
you really need ensnare and maybe even str drain/healing for dews

I had 7 fireballs and 7 lightning, all on a buffbeam.
Ensnare wasn't an issue, I let them get right into the V of the barrier, and they just derped, and derped, and derped. Some rounds, they didn't even damage the barrier. Bad AI. They were trying to path past it, and couldn't.
I was considering dropping to 6 fireballs and a strength drain, for DEWS. Ogres aren't the issue with this build.
This build does a total of 1.6m DPS, if you count single target, but it has insane AOE/arcing.

Part of the reason why ogres don't matter, is the V barrier formation, had all of the ogres standing basically ontop of eachother. I had 13 towers firing on them in one concentrated spot(6 fireball, 7 lightning, because one fireball was backwards).
After the lightning hit the ogres, it'd arc all over the freaking place. The fireball splash would hit like 4 ogres at once since they were ontop of eachother.
I crosslinked the barriers start points, so they couldn't glitch through the gap, since the gap didn't actually exist. The 2 barriers actually run through eachother at the very end

Ah my bad, didnt see the fireballs stacked
Well thats enough firepower i guess but still i think an ensanare for 3 DU is pretty much mandatory in monster fest maps, apart from ogres it also helps A LOT with dews
Even a lowish stat monk is ok as it doenst scale much anyway

I just don't have a monk :P
I did this with what I have 74+, which is adept, huntress, and series EV (I have a countess too, but didn't use).
If I removed anything, it would be a fireball... I'd have enough DU for a sd or ensnare at that point. Which would be better?

I actually really like this build, although I'd like a screenshot just to confirm the layout, as it's so packed in that corner, I may miss an important part of the formation. I really can't wait to give this a try, I'm loving your builds Angelus, keep it up!

Well, I meant the way you fit 14 towers on a single beam - it looks impossible for me. But would liek to learn that trick ;)

Two rows of seven with a beam going through the middle. The hitboxes on both the beam and towers are larger than they look.

Yep.
I recently tried this again, with 7 fireballs, 4 lightnings, and 3 DST... was interesting. 2 DST facing west, 7 fireballs facing east, and one DST facing north.
DST took out enemies WAY before they got to me, speeding up the kill rate.

Finally I was able to complete NM UMF with this build!
However, didn't recevie anything of teh value... all teh items were worse than random loot dropped from mobs or chests -.-

I used this build UMF NMHC using countess harpoon towers instead of apprentice towers like Angelus suggested, worked beautifully. Thank you for posting it! I'm going to try a few DSTs next time facing west. OP do you think it will greatly improve completion time?
Thanks,
Tob
