So obviously Trendy is trying to make a step forward into loot filtering on the minimap, which is nice. The problem is how do you get something all players can agree with? Well, you can't. Not if they aren't the ones controlling it. How do we fix that? With the picture I promised in the topic title!

I spent some time in photoshop, and I'm far from good with it and far from artistic, just to get the general idea down of how I think loot filtering on the map should go.
Looking at the picture I think a lot of it is self explanatory. Each gear type, every type listed to be friendly to new players and experienced players, has an option of what their default coloring will be as well as their coloring if it's an upgrade.
Per example, I've set everything below Myth to be gray if not an upgrade and green if an upgrade. I've set Myth to be default turquoise and blue if an upgrade. And I've set Transcendent to be purple default with red if an upgrade. This lets me see everything very simple and clearly on the map.
Why both?
Simple. This lets us separate the transcendent, or whatever, pieces from the mythical, or whatever, pieces as far as upgrades go as well. Seeing a bunch of green dots because the game decides they're all upgrades isn't that helpful. Seeing if an upgrade is transcendent or mythical at least adds a little bit of filtering, since we can't filter by stats.
This fix seems VERY simple to accomplish on Trendy's end, as it's a very simple menu option to give and they're already in the process of tweaking the coloring anyway. This lets players decide their own coloring and everyone is happy.
