View Full Version : Game crash on return to tavern or replay level attempt - recurring lost files

Okay, this is a strange one and it's been bothering me for several weeks now. Occasionally, after a map/challenge is completed or lost, either trying to return to the tavern or replay the level causes the game to crash (DunDefGame.exe has stopped working, etc). There's no "hang", just an immediate black screen and error message. After every crash, I can verify the game cache and it'll tell me that two files were missing and redownloaded. But even after this the crashes continue. I've even checked the cache before booting it up, finding that it was fine and then having it crash just a short time later. I have no special graphical settings for the game set up. The weirdest part is that it doesn't have a consistent pattern to it, sometimes I can go back to the tavern just fine and it doesn't matter if I'm hosting or not.
So either somehow in the process of playing, two important files are being corrupted and causing a crash, or the crash itself causes those files to not work and something else is the ultimate issue. Either way, it's annoying as hell.

The next time it happens can you send us your .mdmp file? I'd first clean out your current ones and then the next time it happens send the new one.

Make sure you're on the latest version and send in an email to Tech Reports with the title like "7.25c Crash on ..." and include details of what happened in your email. This will allow us to help resolve the issue. As for the 2 files being verified, this is just config files refreshing themselves.
Also link to this thread as well if you could so we know its the same person having the issue.

I've been having the same problem. The description sounds exactly the same except I'm pretty sure I've never had it happen when I was hosting. I don't know where to find the .mdmp file though.

Found instructions for getting .mdmp files here: http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?39570-Tech-Support-FAQ-(PLEASE-READ-BEFORE-POSTING)&p=363019&viewfull=1#post363019
Just in case anyone else having this problem needs to know how.
Edit: I just realized this is the same link giving above. LOL silly me.

Crashed 3 times today (Apr 2nd). Submitted crash reports for all three. In the most recent one, I also submitted the log file. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly.

Still have the problem here too. Will get a log file sent in next time. Always happens when we lose the map. Winning the map has never had an issue. Only happens in other players games. Hosting my own I never have an issue.
