Where is it possible to find a guardian with 250 upgrades. I can only find ones of +-40 upgrades

Some of the ones you see with more that 40 upgrades usually come out of Uber Monster Fest, Lifestream ,annd Oasis Monster Fests. Also from your tavern. Very rarely will the Tavern Keep have one.

Also, guardians with 50 - 120 upgrades come from insane HC MistyMire / Moraggo NPC farming. Great and doable way of progress.

The tavern, after doing survival to very late wave.
On 28 misty, I got a 240^ with only one neg, and 3*360 stats possible.
This is extremely rare, and will not happen every time. Heck, in 20 runs, it's happened once, to one of us.

You might get one from oasis monster fest, but it will probably be broken (lots of negatives, possibly negative boost, like my 195^ monk with -107 boost. Yay).

I got one with 200ish ups from Insane Oasis Monster Fest and the only negative it had was -70 to speed. :3

Ok, take back what I said about OMF, then. Seems you can get good guards there too.
