Reporting issue - How to get Steam profile link information

So I inspect everyone that comes in my store and buys stuff seeing if I can catch obvious hackers. And a guy comes in with a 999999 range pet and 361 all stats and I take a screenshot and go to report him but I see you need a steam profile link ( you cant post without filling it in). How am I supposed to get this information as not everyone will have the same name in game as their steam profile and you can change your profile name?

AM I supposed to talk with him and get him to state it? What am i missing here? I looked up the offender based on his name ChuckN and 1611 ppl come up if I search it in friends. How does this work?

Whenever I report, I just put in "seescreenshot" as his profile link, they can look it up as long as they have his ingame name as that shows his steam name also.

When you bring up steam overlay in game you have button "show players" in past-games (yes past-games even if u are currently on same server as player u suspect, kind of bug I guess) you see this player's steam name, there is show profile and now you know :D Hope I helped.

Trendy needs a direct link to the accused. Read what Machiavell has to say.

All ya have to do is click their profile link, the Steam web browser opens, and just copy the link shown there.

If you report without the link, there is a good chance the report will be dismissed and no action will be taken.

Steam names are not unique.There could be 1000 guys with the same name. I mean not that many people play this game a day, but still. You could also change your name on Steam, log into DD, hack up some gear, take a screenshot, and then report the guy. Instant frame job.

Of course you can do this right now anyway even with a steam profile. But I assume they check the people's inventories before banning them

Well its easy enough to do so yah the info did help. Nice one Machiavell in particular. I had no idea on that feature and I imagine there are more ppl that dint know and couldnt report hackers because of it. I have sent a msg to finally to add this information on the report a player page on how to get ppls profile link and I gave credit to Machiavell as well.
