From the time I started playing, till now, the population of the game has decreased by half so it seems.
Mostly because of banning players which unknowingly bought hacked items. Lots look legit.
If this continues Ranked will have next to no players, and be pointless. Open is all ready hacked to hell.

Maybe, instead of banning players that have bought hacked gear in afk shops and show no sign of actually hacking the item them self, just delete those items. Until Trendy actually decides or trys to stop the hacking, close/disable afk shops. I know trading will still happen, but that will cut the hacked items circulation down a lot.

This game is going to the gutter becuase mass player bannings. I love the game, but its turning into a love/hate relation now.

I don't work in trendy but I get their idea, since because they don't have a fixed database or a log of every item on the game (because that would enquire a huge amount of space on their pc) they work as they can right now;

If you bought hacked items and didn't know and got banned you can simply ask for a ban lift and they will work out your case but the thing is, most people hack items and then says they were only using a gear of a friend's or bought them, so it's hard to work out about it.

Also to be honest with you there's been a very little ban lately on ranked, sometimes I see 2 hacked players in every 4-5 games I join, I try to report them when I see but sometimes is hard to get all the evidence before they notice what you have been doing so it's hard both ways.

As for players who don't know, some items are REALLY easy to spot the hack, like items with 117+ on every aspect or 350+ and stuff like that.

The point player if you actually talk with those guys some are proud of using it or others are like "lol man wtf dude, we are 'helping' you guys and you want to report us? common dude I only do this to help"

I remember others saying "I just started this game 2 weeks ago and lol this game is so boring and easy to hack"

And I'm gossiping IRL while typing this and I guess my whole post doesn't make a quite connection with itself but whatever :V

I'm kind of new to the game, so if y'all don't mind me asking, what is the max base stat you will see on items that are legit?

Obviously I would be able to tell something is off if he has 999,999,999,999 in everything or something, but when should I be worried i may be buying something hacked?

Trendy has stated that they only buy ridiculously hacked items, like weapons doing 100k + dmg or super oversized weapons. Things that really scream "hacked".

As for the players modding their own items, they probably wont get caught by Trendy, because that is not what they are looking for, but VAC should get to them eventually.

best way to stop hackers hacking items is to make it a little bit easier to find better items.

I would love a DLC, even a paid one, that is a weapons/armors/pets pack, I'll pay 3 bucks for that, 5 even. I don't have the time to do Mixed survival on NM HC mode all the time. But I would just make it so you can't sell them and it's locked into your account and you can't drop them so there isn't any risk of losing them by accident :)

I just found a plate hood with 120+ in all stats, so I don't think that would stand as an obvious hacked item. 350+ would prbly be hacked though

People play with friends now, public games can be a massive waste of time.

And there is no way you could just ' delete ' the hacked items, once a hacker always a hacker.

I refuse to buy from shops because of all the hacked items. As a result my gear ranges between average and sucky. This is unfortunately the only way I know to avoid getting screwed for having hacked gear. The game will sometimes break it's own limit caps. The game will also on occasion spawn weapons of gigantic hacked looking size. So honestly I can only be sure of the dreadfully obviously hacked items. Stuff like 10000+ to each stat.

the maximum a stat can have unupgraded and without set bonus is 360. however i think there is an overflow bug where certain stats are immensely high(500+ tower life for example) and the other stats are pretty low and they revert to 117/-117 when you drop them again. (the famous -117 bug) while it is rare to actually find an item with 300+ in all tower or player stats it is possible so judging by that about every end game player would be a hacker.

Finding an item with all the ups in the same number can happen but it's rare, found a weapon with everything 76+ once and a 76- xD

But some bad hackers do that on all the items, like pet 120+ on everything + armorset + weapon. =p

You should come to my store... I guarantee that every item was found in a game legitimately. However, it's kind of funny since I don't buy any gear myself. I feel like buying gear kinda ruins the fun in the game. It's a lot more fun to find a nice piece of gear yourself than just going to a shop and plonking down some mana (or tokens) for that piece you're looking for. Of course some people do not have time to grind for loot so I understand why they might buy from stores. I only run store because of the extreme cost of upgrading 200+ up weapons, armor and pets and the soft 200M mana cap.

All discussions about bans and the what not should be done here(I need to close this thread because of this):

http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?5393-Ranked-Open-Banning-Authority-Update-3-6-12

I'll see how much I can clarify in the next few days about bans but you should never be fearful of buying gear from shops because most of them are perfectly fine. Just stay away from paypal shops as their gear is 99% chance of being hacked. If you come across a player doing bad stuff use report-a-player.
