The RGB values have pretty much no relation to the actual colour of the player and equipment for some reason.
This seems like a quick fix and I'd finally be able to have the exact colours I want.
I'm guessing there should be bias, but it doesn't even seem to be consistent.

There's 2 problems:
1. The colorable areas already have a base color to them. The colors you pick just apply a tint to them, similar to coloring easter eggs: colors will range from ultra pastel to very vibrant pastel. No matter how long you leave your egg in the dye bath, you won't get ultra dark colors. Similarly, Adept robes can only be jewel tone or muddy colors, while huntress with angel costume ends up more like our eggs. The President's Day costumes are particularly bad, since the base color is nearly black.
2. The color you see in the character creation screen is different from what you see in game. I think this is because the lighting somehow is different in the two locations. The lighting differs from map to map, but that's not what I'm referring to. If you look at the GW costume for Apprentice, no matter what color you pick for the main part of his jacket, it is nearly indistinguishable from black in the customization screen. Once you get in game, the coloring is more noticable.
There's not much you can do about #1, it's how every other game that allows customization handles it. Most games just pick better base colors to apply tints to, DD just seems a little more limited.

Ya that inconsistency from creation to game is annoying and could be fixed fairly easily if they simply use lighting similar to the game.
Speaking of inconsistent, my friend's Huntress have light skin colour but I can only be very dark or purple.... what's up with that.
