Hi, not sure who will read this. Some of you may remember me, so hi2u!
To keep it short and without putting too much information here, back when I started Dungeon Defenders I was given permission to monetize my youtube videos (guides) of this game, as of recent youtube are asking me for proof of this and a screenshot of the private message isn't suffice enough.
It was Tsuda that I spoke to about this, his pm box is full however and he hasn't made a post as far as I can see since 14th October 2011, I've pm'd "JeremyStieglitz" about this twice over the last 7 weeks or so but not had a reply and not sure he has read them.
If a dev could get in contact with me about this that'd be appreciated :)

Oh ok, thanks. Will link them that thread and hopefully it's sufficient enough.
What happened to Tsuda anyway? :)

I linked them this thread and the one within this topic and this is the reply I got (see below), if you could help me any further IceArrow or whoever happens to read this I'd much appreciate it. Note that my YouTube username is "Ghoulic123"
"Hi,
Your documentation does not appear to give sufficient COMMERCIAL rights for your video to participate in monetization.
YouTube is not in a position to offer legal advice or to counsel you in any way. However, we have listed some elements below which we have seen in contracts to give you a sense of the types of documents we receive.
-explicit permission to use the rights holder’s content commercially (example: “I, rights holder’s name, give your name or channel’s name, the right to use my original content commercially.”)
-contact information for rights holder
-electronic signature with date (this can be as simple as the rights holder writing out full name at the bottom of the document)
Please be sure to pay attention to any limitations and/or conditions specified by the rights holder concerning your use of the content.
Once you have the appropriate documentation, please email it to us as an attachment."

YouTube doesn't listen to small channels, only when you hit 10M views do they start giving a damn about the thousands of dollars you've made for them.

While quite likely true, I wouldn't want this to impact any further developments I may create on my youtube account, the only people that can really help me are the Dungeon Defenders devs :)

Bump? :( Two videos disabled now
I can see maybe but I doubt you'll get an official permission in some written form to do so. Youtube basically wants a legal document with all the bells and whistles.

If anything someone could put something in a FAQ section with the question answered. Like Terraria and Minecraft websites did:
"I would like to put up a Youtube Video of Terraria. Is this allowed?
Yes, under the following conditions.
The video and/or description must not link to hacked/cracked clients or offer the game to others for free via such clients.
You may have videos with 'Ads' and as a 'YouTube Partner' if you see fit. We do not require any re-imbursment for ad-revenue."
or Minecraft:
"Any tools you write for the game from scratch belongs to you. You're free to do whatever you want with screenshots and videos of the game, but don't just rip art resources and pass them around, that's no fun. Plugins for the game also belong to you and you can do whatever you want with them, including selling them for money. We reserve the final say regarding what constitutes a tool/plugin and what doesn't."

Whoops, typo!
Anyhow, I'm now back and playing Dungeon Defenders having purchased all the DLC since I last played, considering maybe making a couple of more videos but would like this issue resolved first if any dev could help me :) A response from Jeremy, JDanford or Tsuda (has he since left TE?) would be most awesome

That should be more than enough. If not please let me know.

Hi IceArrow, you asked me to let you know if that wasn't enough, unfortunatley that appears to be the case. They're an awkward bunch.
Here's what I sent as proof of monetization rights with my most recently uploaded video
"Trendy Entertainment are the sole owners of the content in this video, explicit permission to commercialize any gameplay videos of their game, "Dungeon Defenders" can be found on their forums as a part of their F.A.Q found at http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?39570-Tech-Support-FAQ-%28PLEASE-READ-BEFORE-POSTING%29&p=393446&viewfull=1#post393446
I am a long term uploader of Trendy Entertainment's Dungeon Defenders and this video is commentated by me personally."
and here is the reply I got to that;
"Dear Ghoulic123,
Thanks for submitting your videos for monetisation. We have disabled monetisation on the following videos because we were not able to verify that you have the appropriate commercial-use rights for all content included:
"Dungeon Defenders - City in the Cliffs (Nightmare Hardcore)"
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEMOYb-1Xlg)
Submit documentation for this video
If you can provide documentation that you have the necessary commercial-use rights for all elements in your video, please take a moment to learn how to claim rights to a video and then submit documentation using the links above.
Please note that we may only serve ads on advertiser-friendly content. YouTube reserves the right to make the final decision as to whether or not to monetise a video and may disable monetisation for users who repeatedly submit ineligible videos. If you currently have videos pending review, you may choose to opt them out of monetisation by visiting /my_videos.
Kind regards,
The YouTube Team"

Apologies for needing to bump this. I understand it's not a high priority but unsure if you previously read my latest update

A while since I've posted on this but YouTube still adamant that what I show them isn't proof enough, I don't know if you can help me further?
I'm sending them something along the lines of this;
"Trendy Entertainment are the sole owners of the content in this video, explicit permission to commercialize any gameplay videos of their game, "Dungeon Defenders" can be found on their forums as a part of their F.A.Q found at http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?39570-Tech-Support-FAQ-%28PLEASE-READ-BEFORE-POSTING%29&p=393446&viewfull=1#post393446
I am a long term uploader of Trendy Entertainment's Dungeon Defenders and this video is commentated by me personally."
and the response is the same as it was on my last video months ago, just today;
"Dear Ghoulic123,
Thanks for submitting your video "Dungeon Defenders - Palantir Nightmare" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66IV2j5zdyA) for monetisation. We have disabled monetisation on this video because we were not able to verify that you have the appropriate commercial use rights for all content included."
Sorry but I don't believe there is much else we can provide you with right now. Nothing at least that would convince youtube that you're allowed to.

I do wonder if anyone else is having success with this. But yeah, I really don't know why they wouldn't accept that.

You may have to contact Trendy directly, as the FAQ should have covered you but youtube is not buying it.

Could one of the trendy staff say the head honcho himself Jeremy contact Youtube Directly? I mean The proverbial straight from the horses mouth should get the point across right? I figure sent from offical trendy email and maybe sent on official letter head in the mail.
I got it have Jeremy and the other team members submit a video to you tube directly as well if they are willing maybe via good old fashioned mail even.
See if a 1080p Blu ray of the owners giving consent and there guidelines for there consent along with a notarized letter sent via registered mail will give them a hint.
