In your Nvidia control panel tell your setup to only use one GPU while playing and see what happens.

How do you do that ?

How do you do that ?

Nvidia Control Panel -> 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings Tab

Find Dungeon Defenders, if not in your list click Add and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dungeon defenders\Binaries\Win32

I would add both DunDefGame.exe and DungeonDefenders.exe

Then once added scroll down until you see things like Multi-GPU (though with SLI you may have something special, not sure as I don't have an SLI setup).

Then click on Multi-GPU rendering mode and change from Use global settings (NVIDIA recommended) to Single GPU. You'll get some warning message but that's okay. Hit Apply and Ok. Do it for both .exes you added.

Now try Dungeon Defenders again.

Edit: You can also change CUDA - GPUS and select a single core if wanted.

Bad luck, I have SLI... But come on, why would DD need a special configuration where every other game I have on this computer works perfectly well ?
BTW, I also have dual screen but turning one off by unplugging it from the graphics card doesn't change a thing...

The game runs just fine, I launch it and the intro movies are fluid, the menu is perfectly fine but when I get into a tavern or a game in progress I just get down to around 1fps... and the sound is butchered too, I have a millisecond of sound every second...

There are plenty of other games that hate SLI and people have to switch to single GPU usage for them. There can be multiple reasons as to why too but it's a good thing to try. Also just turning off a monitor isn't turning off SLI for the game.

An application you can try though and mess with the game: http://www.nhancer.com/

It'll allow you to play around on the fly if I remember correctly and maybe you can see what stops the FPS issues.

Still getting low framerate after deactivating SLI.
The game runs on a default Directx9, doesn't it ? Do you know of any way to change to DX11 ? It has solved one of my problems on World of Warcraft where when rotating camera or moving I'd get lags...
Going to try nHancer

SLI and CrossFire worked for me in 2006 on every new title, there's no excuse for a game to not work well with it in 2012, you just have to stick to standards.

This is the first UE3 game I've played that doesn't work with it for me...

Its not really 1 fps.. I just get one frame, then the game pauses for like a second and than i get the next frame. it is really paused because sound stops for that time as well.
The intro is fine but as soon as you get that software cursor and this blue circle appears the game is only as sloppy as described above.

I have this problem as well. Think it started yesterday.. Been playing DD for 2 months without any problems. With 4 people the fps drops like crazy during battle round. Updated all my drivers and stuff.. I dont get it.
