I just got Screwed

First off, I am on the xbox 360, and I have never modded. I believe modding ruins games.


So here's my story;

One Saturday morning, I woke up and thought to myself, "hey I don't have work for the next few hours, why not play some dungeon defenders? So I hopped on. Quite a few missions went by when I realized, oh crap i'm going to be late for work. From there I can't remember specifically whether I just turned off the console or hit 'exit to main menu' and turned it off; all I know is that when I got back and turn it back on, EVERY ITEM was GONE. No million dollar weapons, no godly armor sets, no fully upgraded Familiars. Gone, everything. Needless to say I don't really feel like playing this game anymore whatsoever. I don't know if this is a sort of anti-duping measure or what trendy, but you have just f*cked me. On the bright side, you didn't manage to catch my Xbox on fire, so I guess there's that.

I'm starting to understand why people mod the sh*t out of this game.

It's a known bug that happens when you shut off your console instead of exiting to the dashboard and then shutting off. (This is why many people keep a backup on the USB or another device).

That big warning message that pops up every time you load up the game, the one that says "Do not turn off your console when you see this blue spinning circle", you didn't think to follow that?

I'm not trying to be rude here, and I genuinely feel sorry for everyone that has lost their save data, but saying that TE screwed you is completely false. Sorry buddy.

So if I was, hypothetically, playing on an xbox and the power in my house went out just when the magic blue circle was doing it's thing, that would not be Trendy screwing me? Cause I don't recall hearing about this problem for other games. I might be wrong though.

Don't twist my words. A power failure and turning your console off when you have been told not to are two totally different situations.

I'm not twisting your words, I'm asking a question. Whether you turn it off or the power goes out, you still get the same result right? So if a power failure could also cause this, isn't that still faulty design?

How is that faulty design? The game is saving. Must be just me, but power failures aren't common in Australia, in fact I've only had one in the 14 months I've been playing.

TE can't program against external factors.

I'm assuming sol, this isn't your first time on forums, or any of you on this thread.

I, along with 1 bajillion (trust me it's a real value), have stated this 1 kajillion (higher than bajillion and equally real) times. I feel bad for you, but I mean come on. If you guys have the time to benefit from event/guides/info here, maybe read the stickies or some of the top few threads?

I still feel bad for anyone that corrupts, but I think I've told 250+ public game members, and countless posts amount, of this issue, how to backup, and ways to avoid corruption. Please, just spend about 4-5 minutes a week, just glancing over topic titles, and you'll be caught up with all the critical info.

I'd offer you items, but this is the first time in 3 weeks, that I even did anything DD related, so my coffers are dry. If you still haven't recovered, when patch hits, I'll be more than glad to help run you till at least 1 of your chars is geared nicely.

sometimes it's hard to notice the small circle in the corner of your screen after a wave..

Ok well sweet I was just in a room with Laura(Lara?) from lostheroes@trendyent and she helped me get some of my armor some weapons and some familiars as compensation. So thanks a ton Hitmonchan and feel free to close this thread whenever you want.
