Hardcore - Pure Strategy?

Just wondering what changes from regular Pure Strategy, and Hardcore - Pure Strategy? Is it to intimidate clumsy players into not falling off ledges or something? :)

In my experience the Hardcore mode for Pure Strat does nothing. in fact when you setup a pure strat game with the hardcore option enabled the usual "hardcore" descriptor is absent when you go to the menu during the stage.

It is too bad that Hardcore Pure Strategy meant you couldn't upgrade towers during a wave.

Hardcore Pure Strategy: When a defense is detroyed / runs out of HP / detonations, the DU for that defense is subtracted from the map's DU for the rest of the match.

Basically the same rule that Hardcoe imposes on heroes, it imposes on towers >: )
