Ive recently thought of ideas that Trendy could implement, that would have a way to either ban or separate hackers from the legit. Please post any ideas here that you might have.

-Create the ability to edit the search restrictions aka hacks/non-hacks/no preference (a box you could check)

-Ability to edit what it says when you search, such as "No hacks allowed" or "hackers welcome" etc

-Create a login server like steam for console that bans people with hacks since there is no possible way to permanently get rid of them otherwise.

These are only ideas, if anyone has any please post here LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

The problem with this is there is no modding on consoles, just straight hacking which is against both TE and MS/Sony ToA.

Options 1 and 2 won't actually do anything to stop modders, and with option 3 Steam has modders of its own so its clear it doesn't work either.

For the sake of debate, option 1 and 2 would at least give legits the ability to look through lists and have a good chance of joining a non hacked lobby. Leaders still have the ability to kick the hacks at least. It still dosnt rule out the Lock hack that they use to jack all your items off the locked floor. (Got me once, never again)

Still wouldn't matter if rooms were marked as such, looking from a hackers perspective I would care less if you want to be legit or not - a sign on the door won't stop me from at least attempting to ruin your game.

at the same , as a lobby leader, i auto inspect anyone that comes in, I usually have the spawn area blocked so they have to sell something to move, thus giving me time to do a quick stat check and kick their butts out of my lobby lol. Im just saying i think it would help to attract legits more than quick searching and getting kicked out of 99% of the lobys I join for not having hacked items. I keep my stuff inside my room anyways so Im semi safe. I have like 50-60 9/20 pieces laying out in there lol.

Every item in the game has ideal stats. Why not just create something that removes any items that surpass the absolute maximum in a particular stat? Sure, there will still be hackers that create ideals which is a pain, but hey, it would stop people from hitting 2 billions, and having tower stats at 600+.

As to stop people from actually hacking, the only way I can see it happening is by storing all of the player stats and equipment on the Trendy servers like the PC.

Though I wouldn't mind the ability to edit what it says when we search, I think that "hackers welcome" makes it sound like you support hackers.

doesnt matter because hacking is against trendy and microsoft and sony.

so really option 1 and 2 doesnt help.

and to the thread says ideas to get rid of hackers.

notg how to organize the system.

Because TE also intends to protect event items which are clearly out of the normal ranges.

And different weapons also have different ranges. I mean for each individual item. Sure, it would take a ton of time to get all the numbers, but the community list already contains most of them, so it wouldn't take too long to get all the numbers. Or just ignore event weapons, I don't think they have been hacked.

you get also make a cap damage so any weapons that do over so much damage like over 1 mil per hit get corrupted wouldnt effect event weapons either and it would be a start.

Or class specific, such as huntress > 10k, squire > 20k, monk > like.... 5k. >.,

Thats a good idea to be honest.

I do like that idea, especially cuz i hate to see people with girraffes that never earned them. Ive joined a few lobbys and seen people with the Trendy Trophy, and when I asked to see their legit gear, they dont have any and if they do, their tower stats are rarely over 100, but yet they swear up and down that they got all the achieves and whatnot completely legit before they got hacks.

in closing, nothing is worse than knowing you put in the time to:

A. Get the gear to be able to run pure strat and survival on high waves well

B. Actually use skill to complete some of the challenges that require a little common sense to complete and not just have hacked chars that have towers and traps taht cover the entire map and do 1004025043250346530465303465 dps.

Event items are still in essence modded items only difference is that TE has the permission to mod versus some random kid who hacks because they use unethical means and do not have permission to do so.

I have no idea why anyone uses the term "modding" on Xbox.

It's hacking and cheating, nothing else, I don't want to hear the rubbish that is "it's the same thing" it isn't, end of debate - don't push the issue. Tempted to edit every post in this thread to reflect the reality of this issue.

I believe it comes from hacking a game save on xbox. I don't think it has anything to do with DD personally, modding is a term somebody long ago used on consoles and it stuck even though it really is hacking.

Ok everyone, I just went through this entire thread and changed any wrong use of the word modding since there is no modding on consoles, just straight hacking with the exception of games that already have mod tools like farcry, etc. Anymore wrong use of the word modding will lead to deletion of posts.

Cheers.

I hope people understand, but for the most part, modding is to do with a creative intention, such as custom textures and such, not the hopes of completely tearing appart a community. Hacking on the other hand, is just giving yourself super overpowered gear or whatever.

I really can't believe people really care that much to ignore the thread title and start a debate about something as trivial as the words modding vs. hacking (especially on consoles because there really aren't any mod tools on consoles so it doesn't matter what you call it on consoles).

It does matter because it is the wrong term that is being used. There is NO MODDING ON CONSOLES, just straight HACKING. There is nothing to debate on this subject.

For all those who not comprehend this concept... You mod the xbox and hack items, you do not only mod(ify) items but hack in-order to do so... they are mod(ify)ers and hackers, its a different word for the same thing.
