TBH...crystal hp wont change much. When mobs pass the barricades, the crystal dies super fast anyways. It will help in preventing faster fails with random arrows hitting the crystal in survivals, but nothing more IMO.

NM without the HP buff? Haha, no. The pet and crystal buffs are nothing significant.

Oh boys same thing repeats it self over and over again and it happens every time a patch comes out. Do you guys know what it is? :D That's right a QQ thread about how easy it is now because things got buffed or how hard it is because something got nerfed.
Megamanzero easy solution to increase difficulty, store a part of your armor in to the item box and problem solved? Or try it with naked builder.

honestly, there should just be a safety barrier accross all difficulties that prevent the crystal from ever getting 1-hitted. something like "max damage crystal can take = crystal hp / 2"

This is not a QQ thread. I just pointing out that the NM name, on its current state, is more likely close to very hard. Yes you cant beat Nightmare mode without at least a 400+ stats and a good pet. I'm just saying that nightmare difficulty should be really nightmare(the map is almost impossible to beat). I should've been more clear next time. Here's an idea, keep the nightmare name and introduced another difficulty named Impossible ^_^ .

If the OP is using hacked gear, disregard all I've said below:
Using the same logic, why don't you just play easy mode without any gear and never spend any of your upgrade points. I bet it'd be a lot harder, right? So then you wouldn't need another difficulty level and we could all just play easy mode? So using your logic, I don't think you should ever play any mode other than easy mode in any game ever made from this day forward because you could just limit yourself and limit what the game gives you to create your own perfect difficulty level.
Vesper, what you said was not smart. It showed a complete lack of understanding. ANYONE can make ANY difficulty more difficult by changing HOW they play and WHAT they use. The idea of a difficulty is that the player can use all that they are allowed to try and win. It's a challenge imposed by the creators of the game, not by the player.
A difficulty IS NOT something that a player creates for a challenge for themselves. As in, there's a reason why developers don't release all games with "Normal" and nothing else, and then say at the bottom, "For added difficulty, trying doing things that make the game harder. It's up to you!"
There is nothing wrong with a very skilled and highly leveled player from wanting end-game content that poses a true challenge to them and only to those who are of his skill and stats. The problem, the real "QQ'ers," are the ones who play games on a high difficulty setting and complain that it's too hard, so people have to nerf it so the majority of people, who shouldn't be attempting the game on that difficulty in the first place, can feel special and feel like they are winners too! :)
I'm not saying Nightmare doesn't have issues. It has HUGE issues. It does not seem balanced and it does not seem built correctly. A high difficulty level needs to be balanced AND challenging. Nightmare currently is not.
My point is, don't criticize people for wanting a challenge just because you or other people can't measure up to it.

This. I don't think a single person that's consistently clearing Misty NM survival waves 20+ is going to really say that the crystal HP changes are very significant whatsoever. If you're gonna lose, you're gonna lose anyway.
At best, it might save your game from some of the random unexplainable damage.
Nobody that wasn't clearing to 25+ before is going to be clearing to 25+ after this patch. I really don't see why you care or even made this thread.

hes more implying that with all of the buffs they have now... nightmare is chicken crap compared to what it was when it first rolled out

Everything you said may have been acceptable if the OP wasn't complaining about something that should have no effect on the difficulty for him. He's QQing because the crystal HP in NM was raised by 40%? That's the thing that made NM super easy for him? I don't think so. The fact is that people don't like when things that they can do get nerfed because it makes them feel less special.
People have been making challenges in games for themselves for long before either one of us were born. Ever hear of low level runs through RPGs or getting to Ganon in the original Legend of Zelda without getting the sword. People do it all the time, it's a modern age concept that game developers owe it to us to shape the game around our desires. Last I checked, they were the ones making the game. It's nice that they listen to our input, but ultimately it's their game and if you're unhappy with the difficulty, I guess you can always pull open the DDDK and customize the game to the way you would like it.
Also, I like how you cleverly insinuate in your post how I'm criticizing because I'm not good enough to to beat NM. It has nothing to do with the fact that the OP posted something that just screams trolling. Like I stated before, raising the crystal HP should have no bearing on his game, or my game or anybody else who can 'measure' up to NM. If you're setting up your defenses correctly then your crystal isn't going to be taking damage anyway (unless it's from something bugged, which I'm pretty sure is why TE buffed the HP in the first place).
Maybe if you took a minute to step down off your high horse, you would realize that TE didn't program the game just for you! TE laid out 5 different difficulty levels. If any/all are not enough of a challenge for you, then it's time to make your own challenges! To expect TE to sit there and personalize this game to YOUR standards is simply a product of a self entitled attitude.
My point is, don't assume that just because someone likes to see other people be able to progress through end game content it means they are not good enough to complete it themselves. Not all of us need to be towering over the rest of the community to make ourselves feel good. Also, if the highest level of presented content is too easy for you, then it's time to either come up with your own challenges or find another game.

40% extra crystal health does nothing. If your defenses fail you are doomed no matter how much hp the crystal has.

Hmmmm! What does that even mean? NM isn't really NM O_o?
And what all got buffed? Things got balanced, not OP. That much crystal HP changes nothing, or does it? It's not even updated yet so how can you say it'd have a game changing effect and make NM easier for you?
There's like 70% of the people who still can't clear Misty Wave 15, and I do consider myself in that 70%. So if you could clear end-game does it mean everyone can? Really, stop QQ'ing over the fact that crystal HP got buffed, if you think it'll make the game easier for you, then how about you let some goblins trash the crystal early on, so it's HP comes down to 40%? And then you carry on? Hell how about allowing them to trash it so much that only 10% of HP is left, then try to hold on until wave 30, shall we?
Don't see the change from your personal aspect, please.

I'd really like to know what stats you're running with right now. Think about when your stats were lower, before obtaining some nice Myths. That's when NM is a challenge. Now that you've gotten the gear from it, you're probably starting to outgear it.

NM is still plenty hard for the large majority of people. And I'll bet that at least half the people who think it is too easy have benefited from hacking at one point or another.
I'm sure it will get harder as new enemies are added; also I'm sure a new end-game difficulty will be added when the level cap is increased to 80. And I'll bet they get a lot closer to the difficulty they want the first try this time.
Though, before they do that, and put a whole new tier of equipment out there; they should really, really, consider dealing with hackers. There are plenty of easy solutions, and they don't even require storing item info on their servers.

NM is harder than the other difficulties, who cares what the name is. Seems you have this vision of any difficulty labeled nightmare as incredibly hard to impossible.
A name is a name. Call it carebear difficulty if you want. At least it is still harder than insane.
Oh, and the 40% crystal hp buff is to compensate for the bugs they aren't fixing. Like invisible ninja hits, crap walking through walls, etc. Monsters actually overcoming defenses don't care about a 40% buff.
