i am strongly considering buying dungeon defenders for the pc. i have it for the ps3 but want to be able to get mythical gear. i was wondering what you need to run the game on your computer. i have windows 7 if that is a help. i was also wondering if you need a graphics card or if it optional.

EDIT: Thanks for your responses.

My computer is a desktop, Dell Inspiron 580, Intel Core i3 CPU, 550 @ 3.20 GHz. I have 6 gig of RAM and a 64 bit operating system. Not sure what all of this means, but hope it’s helpful.

Also, under the Performance Information screen the Windows Experience Index numbers on a scale of 1.0 to 7.9 says for Gaming Graphics our system is 5.2.

Is there a way I can find out just what my graphics card model is?

You need a graphics card to even use a computer. Without any information, no one can give you an answer. We would need processor speed/model, how much memory you have, your graphics card model or integrated graphics model.

integrated graphics is most defintely NOT sufficient for this game.

ps3 will very soon be gettin a new patch to increase the level cap to 78 as well as introduce new and better gear.

to answer your question, we need more details other than your os to know if your pc can handle it. if you don't quite know how to find out, at least give us the model name/number of the laptop if you can.

its wierd that they don't have the system requirements on the steam store page. regardless, its an unreal engine 3 game, so if you can run any of the following games: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games#Unreal_Engine_3 you should be able to run dungeon defenders just fine.

integrated graphics have come a long way. you'd be surprised at what some of the modern chips can run nowadays.

That's a pretty bold claim. Laptops can run this game yet unless it's a gaming laptop will generally be integrated. Also, have you given the new intel on-proc graphics capabilities with DD a try yet? I've heard they mostly don't compare to actual cards, but it may still run it.

i was wondering what you need to run the game on your computer.
Asking what runs it, not what gets 300fps in it :P

I run a i3-2310m 3gb of ram w7 64 bit integrated graphics, and I can play DD on medium, you elitist people. ;) My rig cost me a grand total of 434$ and is ultra portable. Just sayin'.

Edit: Actually i AM able to play on high but I don't want to push it too much because this laptop is also for school. It would suck to lose everything.

Right from reading your specs providing your card can run it you should have high enough specs to run Dungeon Defenders on the PC but as mentioned the level cap for PS3 is increasing soon so if your unsure i wouldnt bother, but if you still want to you can find out the graphics card series atleast using DXDiag, just type DXDiag into your run bar on the start menu and it will give you a list of specs i have a HD Radeon 6950 but it only says 6900 Series so it may not give you the exact card but it will give you a rough idea and we can help you better if we know the card series atleast because it SHOULD round it down unless its integrated Graphics but i know my lappy runs DD and that has integrated (it runs slow and laggy but it runs none the less)

The constant changes will ruin the game for you in less than a week...

From what I could find the graphics card in that rig is a NVIDIA GeForce G310 512MB, which if it's roughly the same specs as the Geforce 310, then it is quite a low graphics card imho. I run DD on a GTX 285 on my desktop, with a Core2 duo CPU, and DD can lag at end-game set on high, perhaps even medium, but not sure as I haven't played many end-game things due to me not having the level nor the gear.

I also play on a Dell XPS 17" L702x, and it works good, but not sure about end-game.

TBH IMHO build a gaming rig. It'll set you back some $$$, but will be worth it in the end :) If you don't play heaps, and aren't fussed about the extra PC content, stick with PS3 as it will still be getting the QftLES expansions.
